Dune: Part Three Sets Early IMAX 70mm Screenings Before December Release
Dune: Part Three will screen early in select IMAX 70mm theaters on December 14, while its regular North American release remains December 18.

Dune: Part Three is giving some fans an early trip back to Arrakis — but its regular release date has not moved.
The film’s official social account has announced special Dune Insider screenings on December 14 in IMAX 70mm, with additional early screenings in other formats set to follow shortly afterward. More tickets are scheduled to go on sale August 18 at 9 a.m. PT, though local availability can vary by theater.
The Wide Release Is Still December 18
The key distinction is that these are limited early screenings, not a new nationwide release date.
Legendary lists Dune: Part Three for December 18, 2026, while Warner Bros.-linked official material says the film opens across North America that day, with international rollout beginning December 16.
This also is not the first time tickets have gone on sale. IMAX began selling opening-weekend IMAX 70mm tickets on April 6 for participating theaters, covering qualifying screenings from December 17 through December 20. The newly announced December 14 Insider showings are a separate early-access opportunity.
IMAX currently lists Dune: Part Three as a Filmed For IMAX release, with select theaters offering the 70mm presentation.
Denis Villeneuve’s third film is based on Frank Herbert’s Dune Messiah and brings back Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides alongside Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert Pattinson and Javier Bardem.
For everyone outside the special early screenings, Dune: Part Three still arrives in North American theaters and IMAX on December 18.
