Apocalypse Z: New World arrives on Prime Video worldwide on October 30, 2026. The first official teaser confirms that the sequel moves the story to the Canary Islands, described by Prime Video as Europe’s last refuge after the TSJ outbreak, before a mission for essential supplies sends survivors to the mainland.

The English title is Apocalypse Z: New World; Prime Video uses Apocalipsis Z: Un Nuevo Mundo for the Spanish title. The film follows 2024’s Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End, which remains available globally on Prime Video.

What the teaser and synopsis confirm

Prime Video’s written setup is more useful than trying to turn every teaser shot into a plot point. It says the Canary Islands have become Europe’s last refuge following the TSJ virus outbreak. A special mission then heads to the mainland in search of vital supplies, with Roberto joining the team despite what Prime Video calls his “questionable intentions.”

That is the confirmed setup. The teaser shows armed survivors, military activity and a large group of infected, but it does not establish who survives, where every sequence falls in the story, or what Roberto ultimately wants. Prime Video calls the threat infected, so that is the terminology used here rather than assuming a more specific in-universe label.

The connection to Manel Loureiro’s books

Prime Video describes the sequel as based on author Manel Loureiro’s books and as an expansion of the post-apocalyptic universe. That confirms the continuing source-material connection, but not a one-to-one adaptation of a particular novel or volume. Until Prime Video or the production identifies that relationship more precisely, treating New World as a direct adaptation of one named book would go beyond the official material.

The first film’s international performance is also described carefully by Prime Video: it is among the service’s most-watched titles internationally. Amazon has not supplied a viewer total for this sequel announcement, so there is no meaningful number to add.

Cast, director and the Sitges premiere

Carles Torrens returns to direct after helming the first film. Prime Video’s confirmed cast list includes Carlos Alcaide, Julia Martínez, José María Yazpik as Pritchenko, Mónica López, Tamara Casellas, Santiago Vaca, and Berta Vázquez as Lucía. Only Pritchenko and Lucía are paired with character names in the current Prime Video announcement, so the other listed actors should not be assigned roles without a first-party confirmation.

Sitges Film Festival has independently listed Apocalipsis Z: Nuevo mundo for an October 10 premiere at its 2026 event, ahead of the October 30 streaming release. Its announcement also confirms the Canary Islands setting, the mainland supply mission and Prime Video distribution.
