Battlefield 6 Season 5: Siege of Vegas starts October 13, 2026, with Vegas Strip and Area 51, four weapons and new REDSEC modes. EA scheduled update 2.1.1.0 for 08:00 UTC download and 12:00 UTC content activation. Both times have passed at publication; this is the publisher’s schedule, not an independent server test.

The October 15–19 PlayStation and Steam trial and October 20–November 10 Dead Space event come later. Neither should be confused with today’s seasonal launch.

What is available at the Season 5 start?

AdditionWhat EA lists
Multiplayer mapsVegas Strip and Area 51
REDSEC modesRapid Royale; Ranked Battle Royale launches beyond Battlefield Labs
WeaponsMk 24 assault rifle, RSPR personal defense weapon, Z84M light machine gun, ELR-40 bolt-action sniper rifle
ProgressionNew Battle Pass and multiplayer leaderboards

The October 9 roadmap presents Vegas Strip as an urban mix of casinos, hotel interiors and storm drains, with helicopters and armored vehicles outside. Area 51 combines a desert installation supporting tanks, helicopters and jets with an underground facility reached through a crater.

That is the useful layout distinction before choosing a map: Vegas moves between city streets and buildings; Area 51 separates open desert combat from enclosed spaces below. These are publisher descriptions, rather than hands-on judgments about balance.

The roadmap’s European Casino is a later infantry-focused map. Casinos within Vegas Strip do not make it a third launch-day map. RSPR is likewise one weapon: the roadmap calls it an SMG, while the final notes use personal defense weapon.

REDSEC and the full-game trial are different offers

EA’s October 1 preview introduced Rapid Royale as a shorter, more intense REDSEC experience and stressed that proposed changes could move during testing. The later roadmap specifies smaller solo or trio matches with earned redeploys. Use the final patch notes for the launch state rather than assuming every earlier proposal shipped unchanged.

REDSEC is the free-to-play battle royale offering. Its modes are separate from Battlefield 6’s paid multiplayer and the temporary opportunity to try that full game.

The final October 12 patch notes list the October 15–19 trial for PlayStation and Steam, including the available maps and modes. They do not establish an Xbox trial or permanent ownership. Conditions apply, and EA says trial periods can vary by platform; check your retailer for local access and end times.

Dead Space: Convergence begins October 20

EA dates the crossover October 20 through November 10. Marker Incursion is its 16-player PvE mode, involving AI-controlled Marked Soldiers, a Pulse Rifle pickup and a Marker beneath Area 51.

October 20 is the date for players returning specifically for that crossover. Downloading the seasonal patch today does not bring the event forward a week.

November and December plans

The roadmap dates Casino Heist for November 10 and Frozen Aces for December 8, with Platoons and Server Browser planned for the December phase. Those remain future commitments, subject to EA’s development caveats.

It also says Gauntlet will leave with Season 5; the checked sources do not independently establish its current in-game menu state. For detailed fixes, consult the final patch notes; use the roadmap to distinguish later phases from launch-day content.
