Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse launched on October 15, 2026, with Konami confirming PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam and Nintendo Switch. Its official product page now says Available Now.

Before starting, keep your demo save, update the full game and check the platform-specific issue notice. As checked on October 16, Konami still says a corrective patch is being prepared; the notice does not announce that these problems have been fixed.

Which platforms have the game?

VersionOfficial launch status
PlayStation 5Released October 15
Xbox Series X|SReleased October 15
Xbox on PCReleased October 15
SteamReleased October 15, according to Konami’s launch announcement
Nintendo SwitchReleased October 15

These are the versions in Konami’s launch announcement. Individual storefronts may display local dates or unlock information differently; the announcement does not establish a single worldwide release hour.

Will demo progress transfer?

Yes, subject to Konami’s stated conditions. Its October 1 demo announcement lists the demo on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Steam. To carry progress into the full game:

  1. Use the same platform and account for both versions.
  2. Retain the demo save data.
  3. Update the full version to the latest available version before transferring.

Those conditions do not promise transfer between platforms or unrelated accounts. Konami also says some features and content are restricted in the demo.

PC startup failure: V-Sync off with unlimited FPS

Konami’s known-issues notice identifies a launch failure affecting Steam and Xbox on PC when V-Sync is off and FPS is set to Unlimited. For that specific problem, it gives this temporary procedure:

  1. Set the monitor’s refresh rate in Windows to below 60 Hz.
  2. Launch the game and open Settings from the title screen.
  3. Under Video Settings, turn V-Sync ON, then close the game.
  4. Restore the monitor’s original refresh rate.

Konami says the game should then launch normally. If repeated attempts fail, it directs players to Customer Support. These are the publisher’s instructions; we have not independently tested the workaround.

Steam Deck interface and system-language issues

Steam Deck: Some interface elements may appear partially off-screen. Konami says it is investigating a fix; the current notice provides no separate workaround for that interface problem.

PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Xbox on PC: Certain system languages, chiefly Arabic, may leave players unable to get past the title screen after saving and returning there. Konami advises changing the system language to another supported language, such as English, to continue from the existing save.

The notice says a patch is being created and that a further announcement will follow when it is ready. It does not give a patch-release date or say every player will encounter these issues. Check the linked notice for subsequent updates.

Rose Belmont, Arcana and Switch specifications

The story follows Rose Belmont, Trevor Belmont’s daughter, in Paris in 1499, 23 years after Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Her Vampire Killer whip supports combat and traversal. Defeated bosses become Arcana associated with tarot cards, supplying spells and special actions; weapons span seven categories alongside equipment called Relics.

Konami’s launch release identifies Evil Empire as the development studio and Motion Twin as the advisory studio. Its EU product table lists 60fps, with 30fps for Nintendo Switch. Those are publisher specifications, rather than measurements from our own testing or a separate native Switch 2 announcement.

Standard versus Midnight Edition

Standard contains the base game. Konami describes Midnight as adding alternate costumes for Rose, a Digital Sound & Art Gallery and an in-game relic. The Alucard-style costume is described as a preorder or early-purchase bonus; eligibility should be checked against the particular offer and territory.

The earlier Konami Press Start recap covers the September presentation. This launch guide focuses on starting the released game and the issues currently documented by its publisher.
