Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton is no longer launching in 2026. Shueisha Games announced the delay via PR Times as Tokyo Game Show 2026 got underway, pushing the release to “sometime” in 2027 — with no specific date yet given. The publisher framed the extra time as necessary to deliver the game “in a better form.” Alongside the delay news, Shueisha Games released a second trailer and gave attendees the game’s first-ever playable demo.

Old window vs. new window

Rumble: Survivaton was previously targeting a 2026 release when it was first revealed in June. That window is now gone; Shueisha Games has only committed to “2027,” without narrowing it to a quarter or specific month. No price has been announced either.

What the second trailer adds

The trailer shows off the playable characters’ attacks and reveals all eight boss characters in the pixel-art style the game uses for combat: Naoya Zen’in and Kenjaku, first unveiled at Juju Fes 2026, joined here by Junpei Yoshino, Jogo, Mahito, Uraume, Eso and Toji Fushiguro. Per CBR’s reporting, all eight are playable as bosses in the Tokyo Game Show demo itself, not just shown in the trailer.

The world-first playtest

Shueisha Games hosted the game’s first-ever public playtest at Tokyo Game Show, which began September 17, 2026. Developed by Vampire Survivors studio poncle, Rumble: Survivaton turns Jujutsu Kaisen into what Shueisha Games calls a “Survivors Royale” — up to eight players battle Cursed Spirits and each other, with the final two facing off one-on-one. The roster includes 20 playable characters, and CBR notes players can pull off franchise-iconic techniques like Black Flash and Domain Expansion, plus absorb techniques from other characters as they grow stronger during a match.

TGS attendees demoing the game also received an exclusive pixel sticker and fan set featuring MAPPA-drawn artwork of Yuji Itadori, and each day’s playtest battles are being narrated live by professional esports commentators.

What’s still unknown

Shueisha Games hasn’t announced a specific 2027 release date or price. Whether the Tokyo Game Show playtest feedback will meaningfully change the final game beyond the extra development time isn’t stated — CBR frames the delay as likely influenced by mixed early reactions to the pixel-art, Vampire Survivors-style approach, but that’s context for why the delay might matter, not a confirmed reason from Shueisha Games itself. Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton is planned for Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
