Street Fighter (2026) Movie Guide: Release Dates, Cast and Characters
Street Fighter opens October 14 in France, October 15 in Germany and October 16 in the US. Check the official cast, character roles, story and Paramount trailer.

Street Fighter’s theatrical rollout begins on different dates in the confirmed markets: October 14, 2026 in France, October 15 in Germany and October 16 in the United States. Paramount’s local listings establish those openings. October 16 is the US date, rather than a single release day that describes every country.
Kitao Sakurai directs this live-action adaptation of Capcom’s fighting-game franchise. Andrew Koji plays Ryu, Noah Centineo plays Ken Masters and Callina Liang plays Chun-Li, with the World Warrior Tournament bringing a much wider roster into the film.
Confirmed theatrical release dates
| Market | Local theatrical opening | Official listing |
|---|---|---|
| France | October 14, 2026 | Paramount Pictures France |
| Germany | October 15, 2026 | Paramount Pictures Germany |
| United States | October 16, 2026 | Paramount’s US schedule |
These are national theatrical opening dates, not cinema showtimes or a timed global stream. The three listings do not establish dates for every other territory, nor do they confirm a particular language track or special screening. For another country, check its official distributor or local cinema listing rather than assuming the US date applies.
Our release calendar records the US opening with the French and German differences identified in the entry.
Who plays which Street Fighter character?
The official movie site’s cast credits explicitly pair the following actors with their characters:
| Character | Actor |
|---|---|
| Ryu | Andrew Koji |
| Ken Masters | Noah Centineo |
| Chun-Li | Callina Liang |
| Akuma | Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i |
| M. Bison | David Dastmalchian |
| Guile | Cody Rhodes |
| Dan Hibiki | Andrew Schulz |
| Don Sauvage | Eric André |
| Dhalsim | Vidyut Jammwal |
| Vega | Orville Peck |
| Zangief | Olivier Richters |
| E. Honda | Hirooki Goto |
| Juli | Rayna Vallandingham |
| Joe | Alexander Volkanovski |
| Balrog | Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson |
| Blanka | Jason Momoa |
Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li form the core of the published synopsis. The other confirmed roles show the breadth of the adaptation’s lineup, but a cast credit alone does not establish how much screen time a fighter gets, who faces whom or who wins.
Paramount France also names Kyle Mooney and Mel Jarnson in its cast listing. The checked listing does not assign them characters, so they are not given speculative roles in the table.
What is the movie about?
The film is set in 1993. Ryu and Ken are estranged fighters when Chun-Li recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament. Paramount’s synopsis says that a conspiracy beneath the competition forces them to confront each other and their past.
That setup establishes the tournament and the pair’s fractured relationship. It does not reveal the ending, a final opponent or a precise place in the games’ continuity. The 1993 setting should not be treated as proof that the film reproduces one game’s storyline scene for scene.
This is a new live-action movie, separate from Capcom’s ongoing Street Fighter games. The actors’ roles are film casting, not an announcement of additions to a playable game roster.
Watch the official trailer
The video is Paramount Pictures’ September 1 official upload, not newly released footage from this release-week guide. The official film video hub is another route to the studio’s available trailers.
For the footage breakdown and the interactive promotion built around it, read Sara Avegaard’s Street Fighter playable-trailer article. That report covers the YouTube Combo Challenge; this guide focuses on theatrical dates and the confirmed cast.
Is streaming announced?
The checked official listings promote theatrical release. They do not establish a streaming premiere, a digital purchase date or a physical home-video release. Paramount’s involvement is not, by itself, a confirmed Paramount+ launch announcement.
Is Evil Ryu confirmed?
The trailer’s glowing-eye imagery has prompted comparisons with Ryu’s darker game storylines. Neither the checked official synopsis nor its cast credits identifies a separate Evil Ryu role or confirms a transformation. Treat that interpretation as a reading of the imagery, rather than an announced plot fact.
