Street Fighter has opened to an estimated $51.1 million worldwide, comprising $31 million in North America and $20.1 million internationally. The Paramount-distributed Legendary/Capcom adaptation leads the North American weekend, according to the October 18 Sunday reporting and The Numbers’ current film record.

These are opening estimates, rather than final Monday actuals. TheWrap’s Sunday report independently puts the domestic debut at $31 million and rounds the worldwide result to $51 million. All figures below are US dollars.

Where the opening revenue came from

Territory measureOpening estimateWhat it includes
North America / domestic$31 millionUS and Canadian opening-weekend receipts
International$20.1 millionReported markets outside North America
Worldwide$51.1 millionDomestic plus international; not an additional revenue pool

The domestic release played in 3,575 theaters. Dividing the estimated $31 million by that count gives approximately $8,671 per theater. North America supplies about 60.7% of the reported worldwide start, with overseas markets accounting for the remainder.

That split describes where ticket revenue was recorded. It does not show the distributor’s retained revenue, the number of individual viewers or whether every international market has opened. Our Street Fighter release-and-cast guide explains the verified staggered theatrical dates separately.

How the domestic debut compares

The Numbers records a $38.5 million North American opening for Mortal Kombat II and $29.4 million for Masters of the Universe, both released earlier in 2026. Street Fighter’s Sunday estimate falls between those two starts.

This compares opening weekends in the same broad market, not total runs. The older films’ recorded results also have a different status from a fresh Sunday estimate. Their budgets, release conditions and later performance cannot be assumed to match Street Fighter’s.

What the first weekend cannot establish

TheWrap reports an $82 million production budget. That is a reported cost figure, rather than a studio-confirmed financial statement, and it is not a complete accounting of marketing, distribution or eventual revenue.

A $51.1 million worldwide gross therefore does not establish profit or loss by itself. Nor does an opening weekend settle the film’s final total or confirm a sequel. The next meaningful checks are revised actuals and how the film holds in subsequent weekends.

Legendary’s official synopsis identifies Kitao Sakurai’s adaptation as the 1993-set story of Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li entering the World Warrior Tournament. This report concerns that live-action film’s commercial opening, rather than the games or a review of the movie.
