AION 2’s global PC service opened October 5, 2026, at 13:00 UTC / 15:00 CEST. NC’s launch notice confirms that the game is live, following the September 30 Founder access opening.

The base game is free to play through Steam or NC’s PURPLE client. A Founder’s Pack is not required for public access. Server access and download availability do not establish queue-free play or a technical performance verdict.

What time did the global service open?

NC’s launch-time announcement specified 06:00 PDT / 15:00 CEST, equivalent to 13:00 UTC. The subsequent official “live” notice confirms the opening, rather than leaving it as a countdown prediction.

Steam now lists the game as released. The official PURPLE download page is also available. These are distribution checks; use NC’s current notices for later maintenance or server changes.

Steam vs PURPLE, free access and paid options

According to the global Launch FAQ, Steam and PURPLE users have the same content and servers.

Steam works without linking a PURPLE account. Link accounts to use the same character and progress through both clients. Korea/Taiwan progress does not transfer to the global version.

Optional paid cosmetics, a Battle Pass and monthly membership exist. Membership provides access to the player economy and currency exchanges.

Official support is for Windows PC. Controller play, Linux and Steam Deck are outside NC’s current official support commitment.

Regions and launch classes

The FAQ confirms server locations in North America, South America, Europe and Japan. Server location does not establish availability from every country.

NC’s global game overview lists eight classes:

  • Gladiator
  • Templar
  • Assassin
  • Ranger
  • Chanter
  • Cleric
  • Sorcerer
  • Spiritmaster

The list concerns the current global build. It should not be expanded using additions from another regional service.

Flight, combat and the official launch trailer

NC presents flight as a system for exploration and aerial combat, alongside ground battles, dungeons and faction conflict between Elyos and Asmodians. Manual aiming and dodging sit alongside targeting mechanics; flight is more than a route between quest markers.

The official launch trailer above comes from AION 2 Official, was uploaded September 30 and runs 1 minute 40 seconds. Its promotional footage introduces the game; it is not Red Reactions gameplay testing.

Launch rewards and deadlines

The current global reward notice extends pre-registration and Steam wishlist rewards to accounts created and logged in before the deadline. Rewards arrive through in-game mail.

It lists Pagati plus one selectable pet, together with a wishlist chest of consumables. The published European cutoff is December 2, 2026, at 09:30 CET; reward mail expires December 9 at 09:30 CET. Check the linked notice for the complete item list and conditions.

Regional reward pages can differ. Use the rules for the service you actually join.

For later status changes, consult NC’s notices before assuming that a login problem affects every region. You can follow other confirmed dates in our release calendar and further announcements through Gaming.
