ARC Raiders and THE FINALS are being developed for film and television with Chernin Entertainment, Variety reports. The October 5 story names Chernin as lead producer, working with Nexon-owned Embark Studios.

Who is Chernin, and how involved is Embark?

North Road’s company profile identifies Chernin as a Los Angeles film and television production company founded by Peter Chernin. Its involvement establishes a production partner; it does not identify where audiences will watch the projects.

In statements reported by GamesBeat, Embark CEO Patrick Söderlund says its creative teams will collaborate with Chernin. Chernin film president David Ready describes ambitions across film and television.

Formats, cast and release dates remain open

Current reports do not assign either game’s format:

What are the games actually about?

Embark’s official descriptions present two distinct settings:

GameSource-game setting
ARC RaidersA multiplayer extraction adventure on a future Earth threatened by mechanized ARC enemies. Raiders scavenge the surface while facing machines and competing players.
THE FINALSA free-to-play shooter built around virtual arenas and escalating tournaments. Teams can alter, exploit and destroy their surroundings.

Those are the games’ premises. They do not establish the screen projects’ plots, protagonists or relationship to existing game events.

What changed since the earlier Hollywood offers?

GameSpot’s January 5 report described Söderlund receiving Hollywood approaches for ARC Raiders, with nothing materialized at that point. That earlier account concerned offers, rather than an adaptation already underway.
