What Today’s Announcement Actually Changed

Season 2 has been confirmed since July 2025, and an October 2026 broadcast window has been public since June 2026. What Black Clover’s official site added on September 7 is the specific date, the specific broadcast time, and the specific ending theme — the details that turn “sometime in October” into an actual date on a calendar. The site also listed four Japanese platforms carrying an early stream ahead of the TV Tokyo broadcast: Anime Times, Lemino, U-NEXT, and Anime Hōdai, with further details on timing still to come.

Japan’s Broadcast Time Isn’t a Global Release Time

Crunchyroll confirmed months ago that it holds the international rights outside Asia, and it’s hosting a one-night theatrical sneak peek of the premiere in select U.S. theaters on September 21. But nothing announced so far pins an exact simulcast time for Crunchyroll’s own rollout. Treat “11:00 p.m. JST on TV Tokyo” as the confirmed Japanese broadcast slot, not as when the episode becomes available everywhere else.

More Than Five Years Off the Air

Black Clover’s original TV run began in 2017 and closed out at 170 episodes in March 2021. The franchise didn’t disappear in between — 2023 brought the theatrical film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, also directed by Ayataka Tanemura, who returns for Season 2 alongside Studio Pierrot.
