Black Doves Season 2 Trailer Sets a November 5 Return for Keira Knightley

Netflix has released the official trailer for Black Doves Season 2, confirming that all six hour-long episodes will arrive November 5, 2026. Keira Knightley returns as Helen, with Ben Whishaw back as her closest friend and fellow operative, Sam.

What does the trailer show?

The footage leans into the show’s mix of espionage action and dark humor. It shows Helen back undercover, weapons drawn in city streets and tense interiors, while the tone shifts between violence and the dry humor the series is known for. What is Black Doves Season 2 about?

According to Netflix’s official synopsis, Helen is “still betraying her nation’s secrets to the covert organization she serves,” the Black Doves, even as her husband Wallace prepares to become prime minister. That puts her in a more dangerous position than in Season 1, since exposure would now threaten the country’s incoming head of government rather than just her marriage. The season picks up after “the misadventures of last Christmas,” which closed out the first run.

Who’s returning, and who’s new?

Knightley and Whishaw are joined by returning cast members Sarah Lancashire as Helen’s handler Mrs. Reed, Andrew Buchan as Wallace, plus Kathryn Hunter, Ella Lily Hyland, Gabrielle Creevy and Agnes O’Casey.

Season 2 also adds several new names. Neve Campbell joins the cast, alongside Ambika Mod as Laila, described as an “acerbic and anarchic” Black Doves agent, and Babou Ceesay as Mr. Conteh, a Black Doves executive. Sam Riley plays Patrick, described as an emissary from an outside organization. Sylvia Hoeks, Goran Kostic and Samuel Barnett have also joined the cast; their characters haven’t been detailed in official materials yet.

When does Black Doves Season 2 release?

All six episodes drop together on Netflix on November 5, 2026. That’s a full-season release rather than a weekly rollout, matching how Season 1 arrived on the service in December 2024.
