Godzilla Minus Zero opens in Japan on November 3, 2026, in the United States, Canada and United Kingdom on November 6, and in many other countries on November 4 or 5. Italy follows on November 12, while a later group of markets opens on November 20. These are local theatrical dates, not one worldwide streaming premiere. The schedule comes from TOHO’s official territory-by-territory listing.

There is one important exception to the US November 6 opening: TOHO and GKIDS have also announced November 3 Godzilla Day IMAX early-access screenings in the United States. Those previews do not move the general US opening forward by three days.

Can you see Godzilla Minus Zero early in IMAX?

Yes, in participating US IMAX theaters on November 3. TOHO and GKIDS’ October 6 ticket announcement identifies Godzilla Day early-access shows ahead of the November 6 wide North American opening. Availability is cinema-specific: an early-access announcement is not a promise that every IMAX screen has a November 3 session.

The film is promoted as the first Japanese production Filmed For IMAX, using IMAX-certified digital cameras. The official September theatrical trailer also previews expanded 1.43:1 imagery. That does not mean every cinema or IMAX venue will display the same expanded aspect ratio; check the particular screen and format when choosing a showing.

For the United States, the studio also lists standard formats, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, D-BOX and other premium presentations from November 6. The October 11 announcement does not independently establish those same formats in every territory on the global date table.

Where can you buy legitimate tickets?

Start with TOHO’s official Godzilla Minus Zero film page, which links to the trailer and tickets, or the film listing at a cinema in your country. TOHO and GKIDS announced North American ticket sales in October, but booking availability, ticket prices, original-language screenings, dubbing and special formats depend on the location and showtime.

Do not assume that a cinema’s November 3 preview, a regional premiere and its ordinary national opening are interchangeable. The September 26 New York Film Festival premiere happened before the theatrical rollout and was a separate festival event.

Do you need to watch Godzilla Minus One first?

Watching Godzilla Minus One (2023) first is strongly recommended. Minus Zero is a direct continuation, not the next Legendary MonsterVerse installment. TOHO’s April 14 first-look announcement places the sequel in 1949, two years after the previous film, with Ryunosuke Kamiki returning as Koichi Shikishima and Minami Hamabe as Noriko Oishi.

Takashi Yamazaki returns as director, screenwriter and visual-effects lead. The official premise follows Japan’s fragile postwar recovery as another catastrophe threatens that hard-won peace. That is enough context to understand the sequel’s place without presenting unreleased scenes or fan theories as verified plot.
