Jonathan Pryce will voice Old Violet, Joel Kim Booster will play Priest Ando and Sherry Cola will voice Kuma in Blue Eye Samurai Season 2. Netflix confirmed the three actor-and-character pairings in its October 14 Tudum update.

The casting announcement gives viewers names to attach to three additions to the ensemble. It does not yet explain their individual storylines or how each crosses paths with Mizu. Maya Erskine remains the voice of Mizu.

Who do the three new actors play?

These are the role names Netflix has announced. The update does not give episode-by-episode appearances, detailed character biographies or a separate international dubbing cast. It also does not identify the three as a complete list of every addition to Season 2.

What does the Old Violet credit tell us?

Old Violet is the exact role label in Netflix’s announcement. Its connection, if any, to Violet mentioned in the first season is not explained in that casting update. The credit alone does not establish a family relationship, a flashback or where the character fits in the timeline.

That distinction matters when reading cast lists: an actor’s confirmed credit can be reported before the character’s place in the story is revealed. For now, the pairing is confirmed and those narrative details remain open. The same limit applies to Priest Ando and Kuma’s roles in Mizu’s journey.

Who returns, and where does the story go?

Alongside Erskine, Netflix names Brenda Song as Akemi, Darren Barnet as Taigen and Masi Oka as Ringo among the returning voices.

The announced story follows Mizu to London. Akemi and Taigen remain part of the story in Japan, navigating Edo Castle under a dangerous new shogun, while Ringo searches for a new purpose. Netflix has not assigned the three newly named characters to those individual storylines in its casting announcement.

When does Season 2 arrive?

Netflix still gives January 2027, with no exact premiere day or worldwide release hour in the checked update. Mizu’s planned conclusion remains set for 2028.
