Carrie Renewed for Season 2 at Prime Video — What Is Confirmed
Prime Video has renewed Mike Flanagan’s Carrie for Season 2. Check Amazon’s announcement, the three-season plan and what remains unannounced.

Carrie has been renewed for Season 2 at Prime Video. Amazon MGM Studios confirmed the continuation in an October 22, 2026 update to its official series guide. A premiere date for the second season has not been announced.
The renewal moves Mike Flanagan’s adaptation beyond the possibility of a return. It does not settle when the next episodes will arrive or turn a previously discussed three-season story into a three-season commission.
What is confirmed about Carrie Season 2?
| Question | Current answer |
|---|---|
| Has Prime Video renewed Carrie? | Yes — Season 2 was confirmed October 22 |
| Is there a Season 2 release date? | No announced date or window |
| Are the episode count and returning cast confirmed? | Not in the renewal announcement |
| Has Season 3 been ordered? | The announcement confirms Season 2 only |
Amazon’s television head Peter Friedlander described the show’s appeal to established Stephen King readers and newer audiences. Flanagan said the intention had always extended beyond the familiar prom story, while King expressed enthusiasm about the continuation. Those comments signal support for more storytelling; they do not reveal a second-season synopsis.
Amazon describes a strong debut but supplies no viewing total or independent performance comparison in this announcement. There is no basis here for calling the series a record-breaking hit.
Why the three-season plan is a separate question
In his earlier Collider interview, Flanagan described a three-part arc as his preferred scenario. That is the creative plan readers may have seen discussed before the renewal. A plan and a commissioning decision are different things: the new order establishes a second season, with no third-season order announced alongside it.
The renewal also does not establish a filming start, a complete returning cast, an episode count or a trailer. Season 1 performers should not automatically be listed as contracted for Season 2.
What can you watch now?
All eight Season 1 episodes are on Prime Video. Stephen King’s official work page records the first season’s October 7, 2026 release. Amazon lists Season 1 in more than 240 countries and territories; that coverage is not a confirmed territory schedule for Season 2.
