Code Geass: Star Chaser Aspal Gets Its First Teaser and a 2027 Window

Code Geass: Star Chaser Aspal now has its first official teaser and a 2027 release window. Sunrise’s new teaser site names the core production staff, but it does not yet provide a story synopsis, cast list, exact premiere date or international streaming service. That is the useful distinction behind today’s announcement: the project is more visible, while its place in the franchise story remains unexplained.

The series itself was announced in December 2025. The September 26 update brings the first proper teaser footage, a dedicated site and a project account. It is the first trailer, not the first announcement of the anime.

What Does the Teaser Show?

The brief footage and official visual introduce new characters, a large battlefield and imposing mechanical figures. The imagery suggests scale, but the project has not named the people on screen or explained their sides, abilities or goals. Nothing in the teaser identifies a war, a country or a familiar Code Geass character’s return.

Who Is Making Star Chaser Aspal?

The official site credits Kazuya Nomura as director, Mado Nozaki for series composition, Rolua for character design and Yoshi. for the design category written アガルマータ. Sunrise is credited with the original work, planning and animation production.

English coverage has rendered アガルマータ in more than one way. The official site currently presents the Japanese term without a definitive English spelling or an explanation of what these designs are within the story. Calling them a particular class of established Code Geass machine would be premature.

Is This a Sequel to Rozé of the Recapture?

Sunrise calls Star Chaser Aspal a new Code Geass project, but it has not explained how the story connects to Lelouch of the Rebellion, Lelouch of the Re;surrection or Rozé of the Recapture. “New” describes the production; it does not settle continuity. There is no basis yet to call this a direct Rozé sequel, a reboot or a return for Lelouch.

When Does It Release, and Where Will It Stream?

The announced window is 2027. No month or exact day has been given. Sunrise has also not named an international streaming partner or confirmed simulcast territories. Coverage of the teaser by a streaming service’s news outlet would not, on its own, establish distribution rights.
