Eric Bauza, the Emmy-winning actor who voiced Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and numerous other animated characters, died on October 25, 2026. He was 46. His family announced his death in a statement on his Instagram account, according to Variety.

His manager, Judy Coppage, also confirmed his death to CBS Los Angeles.

Variety’s report says the family described his passing as sudden and said further details would follow. The announcement was shared on Sunday.

A performer behind many familiar characters

Bauza’s work carried him across television animation and feature films. He performed modern versions of Bugs and Daffy, among other Looney Tunes roles, rather than being the only actor ever to voice those characters. Mel Blanc’s earlier performances remain part of that long history.

His credits included Looney Tunes Cartoons and Space Jam: A New Legacy. In Coyote vs. Acme, his roles extended beyond Bugs and Daffy to characters including Tweety, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd and Foghorn Leghorn, as CNN reports.

Beyond Looney Tunes, CNN identifies his performances as Puss in Boots in The Adventures of Puss in Boots, Splinter in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Fozzie Bear in Muppet Babies. He also voiced Toad General in The Super Mario Bros. Movie. He won Children’s & Family Emmy Awards in 2022, 2023 and 2025.

Warner Bros. pays tribute

In a statement reported by Variety, Warner Bros. Television Group and US Networks chairman Channing Dungey praised both Bauza’s talent and his place within the studio’s animation community, and expressed sympathy for his loved ones.

Coyote vs. Acme was among his recent films. Our archive on its shelving and eventual release traces the movie’s production and distribution history.
