Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis Has Shut Down — Steam Status, Refunds and What Remains Unconfirmed
Ever Crisis ended global service October 6 PDT, October 7 in Sweden. Check Steam delisting, still-visible mobile listings and the follow-up deadline for accepted Taiwan refunds.

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis has reached its announced global service closure. Square Enix set the endpoint at October 6, 2026, 23:00 PDT — October 7 at 06:00 UTC / 08:00 CEST in Sweden. Steam now labels the game unavailable on its store.
For former players, the immediate distinction is between service access, a downloadable client and unfinished refund administration. A store page that still exists does not keep a server-dependent game running.
Service closure and account data
The official end-of-service notice says account data will be deleted after the closure procedures are completed. That wording does not establish that every account was already deleted at the moment service ended.
Square Enix also tells players dealing with refunds to keep the app and avoid reinstalling it or changing devices until the procedure is complete. If you already filed an eligible claim, follow that instruction before clearing storage. There is no verified account-export or playable offline-client option announced in the materials checked for this guide.
Steam is unavailable; mobile listing pages still exist
| Platform | Status checked October 7 |
|---|---|
| Steam | The official page says the product is no longer available on the Steam store |
| Apple App Store, Sweden | A listing page was still visible |
| Google Play, Sweden | A listing page was still visible |
The Steam listing is explicit about store availability. Its remaining page or launch button should not be treated as proof of a working online service or a guaranteed redownload for an existing library account.
The Apple and Google checks establish visible listing pages, not a successful new installation. No account-level download or post-closure gameplay test was performed. It would be inaccurate to label every storefront delisted on the basis of Steam alone.
Taiwan refund applications are closed
The updated refund notice says new applications stopped at the service endpoint. This programme covers eligible Taiwan residents’ unused paid Red Crystals, rather than a worldwide refund of all historical spending or bonus Blue Crystals.
Processing was due to begin October 7 at 09:00 PDT, which is 18:00 CEST in Sweden. That schedule is not confirmation that an individual payment has already arrived.
Players with accepted applications should monitor the official confirmation email. The notice warns that unresolved information can cancel a claim if it is not confirmed by October 29 at 23:00 PDT, or by the response deadline specified in the confirmation email. Follow an earlier email deadline where applicable. Keep personal identity and bank information within the publisher’s prescribed process.
Planned story chapters are not proof of a completed archive
In the producer’s letter, Shoichi Ichikawa outlined a summer plan for Before Crisis content and a final Final Fantasy VII saga chapter in September. Those plans explain what the team intended to deliver before closure.
The announcement alone does not verify that every planned chapter shipped, or that the entire Compilation narrative was completed. The checked official news archive did not establish a separately preserved, playable offline edition. This is a limit of the currently verified announcements, rather than a claim about every future preservation effort.
What this means for the wider Final Fantasy VII series
Ever Crisis is a separate service from the main remake project. Its closure notice should not be converted into a cancellation claim for other Final Fantasy VII games. Our Final Fantasy VII Revelation release guide covers that project’s separately sourced announcements.
For now, check any accepted refund correspondence before uninstalling, distinguish store visibility from service availability, and use the official notices for further account instructions. More service and platform reporting appears in Gaming.
