iHunt Movie in Development: Lilly Wachowski’s Role and the Source Story
iHunt’s monster-hunting books and tabletop RPG are being adapted for film. Check Lilly Wachowski’s role, the creative team and the separate TV pilot.
— Read William Earl’s October 27 Variety exclusive in full and checked the creators’ original novel and RPG pages. Film and separate TV pilot remain development projects.

An iHunt: Killing Monsters in the Gig Economy movie is in development, with Lilly Wachowski as an executive producer. Olivia Hill wrote the screenplay and Scott Glosserman is set to direct, according to William Earl’s October 27 Variety report.
The reported film follows three women who are friends taking monster-hunting jobs through an app in San Jenaro, a fictional California city.
What is #iHunt?
The source property spans Olivia Hill and Filamena Young’s novels and tabletop role-playing game. Its central idea makes supernatural danger part of precarious freelance work: the hunters need income, and an app connects them with paying jobs.
The creators’ original novel listing introduces Lana, who takes contracts against vampires, werewolves and demons because one ordinary job does not cover her bills. Rent, replacing clothes damaged during hunts and keeping work coming in are part of the premise. She is earning a living, rather than answering a chosen-one calling.
That listing describes a series whose entries can be read in any order, while also supplying a chronology. Knowing the source’s setup is useful background; it does not establish that the film follows the first novel scene for scene.
The RPG’s official page describes a collaborative, story-focused urban-fantasy game using a modified Fate Core system. Players create hunters and monsters, with economic pressure and dark humor shaping their stories. These are tabletop rules, not announced mechanics or plot requirements for the movie.
Who is making the iHunt movie?
Variety reports the following team:

|---|---|
| Screenplay | Olivia Hill |
| Director | Scott Glosserman |
| Executive producers | Lilly Wachowski, Sarah Marie Flores and Lawrence Mattis |
| Producers | Matt Skrobalak, Stirling Matheson, Olivia Hill and Filamena Young |
Jess Elgene is reported as Sandra, a character created for the film. The project is associated with Anarchists United Studios.
Wachowski’s role here is executive producing. Our separate Matrix 5 status report covers that franchise’s creative arrangements.
Is there also an iHunt TV series?
There is a separate pilot in development, written by Hill and Young, with Anne Cofell Saunders attached as showrunner. Variety describes Lana leading a different group of hunters in the same city. A developing pilot does not establish a series order or streaming deal.
When will iHunt be released?
The report supplies no release date, distributor, streaming home or filming start. No film trailer is verified. The accompanying illustration is promotional art, not evidence of completed filming.
