Apple TV has renewed Imperfect Women for Season 2. Kerry Washington returns as Eleanor and executive producer, according to Apple’s October 5 announcement.

From limited adaptation to a new story

Apple introduced Season 1 as a limited series: eight episodes adapted from Araminta Hall’s novel, starring Washington, Elisabeth Moss and Kate Mara. It debuted globally on March 18, 2026, with the remaining episodes released weekly through April 29. Its starting point was a crime that disrupted a friendship spanning decades.

Season 2 uses an original idea. Eleanor revisits her roots in a wealthy Black community on Martha’s Vineyard, where revelations challenge her understanding of her past. That is a story setting; it does not identify filming locations.

Who is returning?

Annie Weisman and Justin Hillian co-showrun and executive produce. Moss returns as executive producer; Apple’s announcement does not confirm acting roles for her or Mara.

Hall remains an executive producer. The shared book title does not establish another novel adaptation, or carry the entire original ensemble into Season 2.

Premiere and episode count

Apple’s release supplies no premiere date, release window, episode count, filming start or Season 2 trailer. Season 1’s eight-episode schedule cannot establish Season 2’s length or timing.
