Katana ZERO’s DLC is still in development, and Askiisoft says it has expanded to the scale of a full sequel, with more than 30 new songs. The October 22, 2026 update does not provide a release date or explicitly reaffirm the expansion’s previously announced free pricing.

In the original development post, Justin Stander says work on the DLC continues and describes its scope as “the size of a full sequel.” He also promises further updates, without attaching a launch window.

Has the DLC become Katana ZERO 2?

The developer still calls the project Katana ZERO DLC. The sequel comparison describes how much it has grown; the post does not announce a separately sold Katana ZERO 2 or a standalone game’s release.

It also provides no gameplay-hour target, level count or completion percentage. The soundtrack figure is a concrete description of the music being made, but it cannot be used to calculate playtime or establish how close the expansion is to shipping.

That is useful context for a project following a game whose original launch announcement dates to April 2019. The new post confirms continuing development and expanded scope, rather than a final delivery schedule.

Release date, price and platforms: the current position

QuestionWhat the October 22 update says
Is development continuing?Yes, according to Askiisoft.
What is the project called?Katana ZERO DLC.
How big is it?The developer compares it to a full sequel; no hours or level count are given.
What music is planned?More than 30 new songs.
When will it launch? No date or release window is supplied.
Is it still free? The post does not reaffirm pricing.
Which platforms will receive it?A DLC launch-platform schedule is not supplied.

Gematsu’s October 22 report notes the earlier free-DLC announcement and explicitly treats the current pricing question as unresolved. The historical plan should therefore be identified as historical until the developer confirms whether it still applies.

Existing editions of the base game also do not establish which platforms will receive the DLC, or whether releases will happen together. There is no newly announced regional availability to list from this post.

Where to see the original teaser

The Askiisoft post includes the short teaser shown in this article’s still. It is the developer’s own upload, linked from the same account identified by the official Askiisoft website.

The next useful update will be one that supplies a date, pricing and platform details. Until then, the confirmed news is that development continues at a larger scope. Follow further announcements through our Gaming hub.
