Brotato: Primal Dread launches November 2, 2026, on PC through Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG. Console and mobile releases are planned for early 2027, according to Evil Empire’s original release-date trailer and the showcase’s official press recap.

This is DLC for Brotato, rather than a standalone sequel or an announced free update. Its new setting is a hostile prehistoric jungle, with another set of survival waves and additional equipment.

Release dates differ by platform

The official publisher-distributed recap supplies this lineup:

PlatformAnnounced timing
Steam, Epic Games Store, GOGNovember 2, 2026
PS4 and PS5Early 2027
Xbox One and Xbox SeriesEarly 2027
Nintendo Switch and Switch 2Early 2027
iOS and AndroidEarly 2027

The later window is not an exact date for each console or mobile store. No universal unlock hour has been verified. Our release calendar keeps the exact PC date separate from the broader console/mobile window.

Why does Steam still say 2026?

The checked DLC Steam page displays the broad year 2026. It does not independently show November 2 in its release field.

The exact date comes from the developer’s trailer description and Epic’s October 8 announcement, which explicitly dates the Epic Games Store release to November 2, 2026. A broad Steam field should not be misquoted as an exact-date confirmation.

Do you need the base game?

Yes on Steam. The official listing explicitly requires ownership of Brotato to play this content. Wishlisting the expansion does not give access to the base game or reserve a free copy of the DLC.

The checked announcements do not establish the expansion’s price. Avoid treating a new content reveal as a free-update promise, and check the relevant storefront before buying once pricing becomes available.

What does Primal Dread add?

The official content list describes a new jungle map with 20 waves, featuring new enemies, elites and bosses. It also lists new characters, weapons, items, mechanics, music tracks and achievements.

Twenty is the number of waves, not a confirmed count of enemy species or bosses. The store’s description also refers to mutated and cyber-enhanced predators in the prehistoric forest. Neither that description nor a brief trailer supplies a complete catalog of playable characters or new systems.

Steam names Blobfish Games and Evil Empire as developers and Blobfish Games as publisher. The exact title is Primal Dread, including the final “r”; some surrounding announcement coverage has used a different spelling.

What is still awaiting confirmation?

The checked sources do not provide a DLC price, specific console/mobile launch days or a verified local unlock time. They also do not establish a newly added native online co-op mode.

For now, the useful distinction is the announced November PC launch versus early-2027 ports, with the base-game requirement kept in view. The trailer below is Evil Empire’s original upload, rather than a fan edit or event mirror.
