Serious Sam: The Third Encounter Announced as a Direct Sequel
Croteam’s The Third Encounter continues The Second Encounter on PC. Check the official teaser, co-op plans, TBA release and how it differs from Serious Sam 3.

Serious Sam: The Third Encounter is a newly announced Croteam shooter that continues directly from The Second Encounter. Devolver Digital is publishing it for Windows PC through Steam, where its release date is to be announced. The official product page says it is in early development; no launch year or console edition is confirmed there.
Why this is not Serious Sam 3: BFE
The title describes the story’s position rather than replacing an existing numbered game. Croteam’s own Serious Sam 3: BFE fact sheet identifies that 2011 release as a prequel to The First Encounter.
The Third Encounter takes the opposite chronological direction. Its current Steam description places it immediately after The Second Encounter, continuing Sam’s fight against Mental’s forces. That establishes the advertised starting point, not a complete new franchise chronology, a specific final boss or a disclosed ending.

The store supports wishlisting. It does not establish a preorder offer or a price. Its multiplayer labels describe the current plan, rather than a finished implementation or a verified maximum number of players.
What Croteam is promising
The publisher describes alien worlds, large enemy groups and a mix of returning and new weapons, with solo and cooperative play. These are development promises; the reveal does not settle campaign length, performance, the full arsenal or every combat system.
Gematsu dated the announcement October 21 and linked the following teaser. The original upload is on Croteam’s YouTube channel, not a fan reupload.
The screenshot used here comes from the new game’s official Steam gallery and retains its work-in-progress label. It should not be mistaken for proof that the game is ready to launch. Our Gaming coverage and release calendar will distinguish later dated announcements from this undated reveal.
