The Entire Keroro Platoon Has a New TV Cast

Every platoon member has a new voice actor for this series: Makoto Koichi as Keroro, Rika Nagae as Tamama, Toshiki Masuda as Giroro, Kosuke Echigoya as Kururu, and Keishi Inomata as Dororo. This is a complete cast change specifically for the new TV anime — not a franchise-wide replacement. The 20th-anniversary theatrical film that opened June 26, 2026 used the franchise’s original, longtime cast, including Kumiko Watanabe as Keroro, who has voiced the character since 2004. The film and the new TV series are separate projects made with separate voice casts.

The Classic Premise Is Back

BN Pictures’ official synopsis keeps the setup that’s defined Sgt. Frog since it began: Keroro, a Keronian sent to Earth as part of an invasion mission, is discovered infiltrating the Hinata household by siblings Fuyuki and Natsumi Hinata. Separated from the rest of the invasion force, he ends up living with the family — still nominally pursuing conquest, mostly getting in the way of it. BN Pictures has not described this as a remake or reboot of specific past storylines, just a new production built around the same starting point.

How This Differs From the 2026 Movie

Beyond the cast, the two projects serve different purposes: the film functioned as a 20th-anniversary theatrical event with the cast fans have known for two decades, while the TV series is a new, ongoing weekly production aimed at introducing the franchise to television again. Nobuhiro Kondo (Shonen Ashibe GO! GO! Goma-chan) is chief director, with Satohiko Sano directing at BN Pictures, animation production handled with Bridge and Aisle. What International Viewers Currently Know

No international streaming platform has been announced for Keroro Gunso☆. The previous TV series has been available on Crunchyroll since 2021, but that’s a separate, already-existing catalog listing — it isn’t confirmation that Crunchyroll or any other service has licensed the new 2026 series. Anyone outside Japan currently has no confirmed way to watch it when it airs.
