King’s Proposal is scheduled for Japanese television in 2027, with Rie Takahashi voicing Saika Kuozaki. The October 25, 2026 production announcements confirm the broadcast year, casting and a Saika-focused teaser visual, while leaving the exact premiere date unannounced.

The adaptation was first announced in October 2025. This is a further announcement about that project, rather than the first reveal that the light novels are being adapted.

What the new announcements confirm

The official broadcast update specifies a 2027 TV anime, without naming a season, month or day. A separate casting announcement identifies Takahashi as Saika and includes a cast-comment video. That comment video should not be mistaken for episode footage or a full anime trailer.

The current official staff and cast page credits original author Koushi Tachibana and original illustrator Tsunako, with Saika the only named voice role so far. It does not supply a director, animation studio or episode count.

The story and the Date A Live connection

According to Yen Press’s English synopsis, Saika is an exceptionally powerful mage who protects the world from recurring threats. When she is mortally wounded, the boy who finds her, Mushiki Kuga, inherits her powers and body. He must attend a magical academy as Saika while keeping his identity secret.

That is the novel’s premise, rather than a claim about how individual anime scenes will be adapted. Tachibana and Tsunako are also the creative partnership behind Date A Live; the connection is through its creators, not an announced shared continuity. Our Date A Live F Last Date report covers their other current adaptation news.

What remains unannounced

The Japanese television window does not establish a simultaneous global release. The checked production announcements do not name an international streaming service, overseas premiere schedule or English dub.

The illustrated cover shown above is archival material from the original novels, supplied in KADOKAWA’s Fantasia Bunko press release. The new anime teaser visual is linked through the official announcement, keeping the two forms of artwork distinct.
