No Rest for the Wicked 1.0 Replaces Attributes With 24 Weapon-Based Classes
Moon Studios details 24 classes, 362 traits, six factions and Cerim Cores for No Rest for the Wicked 1.0, ahead of a December beta and March 2027 PC/PS5 launch.

No Rest for the Wicked’s planned 1.0 update replaces its attribute system with 24 weapon-based classes and 362 announced traits. Moon Studios outlined the change in its October 16 Wicked Inside showcase, explaining that a weapon determines a character’s class while traits can be carried between classes.
These are features of the forthcoming overhaul, rather than a claim that the entire new system is already available in the current Steam Early Access build. The developer still plans an open beta in December 2026 and a March 2027 version 1.0 launch on PC and PlayStation 5.
How do the 24 weapon-based classes work?
Moon’s October 16 announcement supplied to Games Press says the previous attribute system is being removed. Instead of attributes steering a character toward a particular playstyle, changing weapons changes the class.
The other part of that design is trait transfer. Players will be able to bring traits from one class into another, allowing a build to combine elements from different classes rather than treating each weapon as a completely sealed progression path.
Moon’s examples include electrically charged spears and stealth-focused approaches. Those are developer descriptions of intended combinations, not independently tested recommendations or evidence of which build will be strongest at launch. A weapon-based class system also does not, by itself, establish how every item, unlock or existing save will migrate into 1.0.
Why are there now 362 traits instead of 280-plus?
The studio’s September 18 preview advertised 24 classes, more than 280 traits, six trait slots and six factions. The October release gives the newer, more specific total of 362 traits across 24 classes.
For readers comparing announcements, 362 is therefore the latest announced figure. The six-slot description comes from the earlier preview. Neither number should be treated as proof that the final game’s balance is settled, or that every possible combination is currently playable in Early Access.
What do the six factions add?
The announced faction system supplies another route through Isola Sacra. Moon names the Severed Hand, Sacrament Guard and Unspoken among the six groups, describing faction questlines, new traits and distinctive vendors.
Those rewards connect faction progression to character building: joining a group is intended to open more than a different set of conversations. The studio has not supplied a complete faction-by-faction reward checklist in the checked release, so it is too early to prescribe an optimal route through all six.
What are Cerim Cores?
Cerim Cores govern endurance and survival alongside the combat class system. Moon lists straightforward benefits involving health, stamina and focus, as well as more specialized effects: Feral increases attack speed, while Crimson grants life-steal.
There is a capacity trade-off. According to the studio, exceeding Core capacity means taking more damage from attacks. That makes adding more benefits a risk as well as a progression choice; it does not justify inventing a numerical damage penalty or an ideal capacity threshold before those details are verified.
When can players try the new system?
Moon’s September preview says all 24 classes are planned for the December open beta. Its October 16 showcase announcement repeats the December beta and March 2027 launch windows. An exact beta day, full eligibility rules and platform coverage for the test are not established in those announcements.
The October press release identifies PC and PS5 for the March 2027 1.0 launch. March is a month-level target, with no confirmed day or universal unlock hour. The game remains available in Steam Early Access in the meantime; the beta and full release are separate milestones. Our release calendar records the PC/PS5 window at that precision.
What else is planned for 1.0?
Moon says the update will roughly double the game’s size, adding explorable zones, enemy factions and bosses alongside loot, combat and quality-of-life changes. It also identifies PlayStation 5 performance as a development priority.
That is the studio’s scope estimate, not a verified doubling of playtime or a final console performance measurement. The practical next checkpoint is the December test, when players should get a chance to try the class system before the planned March release.
