Duck Side of the Moon Comes to PS5 November 17 With Free Homegrown Update
Duck Side of the Moon reaches PS5 on November 17. Its free Homegrown update adds gardening, spaceship customization and new areas, with existing saves supported.

Duck Side of the Moon launches on PlayStation 5 on November 17, 2026, alongside its free Homegrown content update. Starbrew Games says the update also reaches the existing PC and Nintendo Switch versions that day, adding gardening, more spaceship customization and new places to explore. Players who have already finished the game can continue from their existing save.
The update is free; the base game is a separate purchase. Homegrown expands the cozy crafting adventure about Doug, an overworked duck astronaut stranded in a galaxy of small planets and talking rocks. The developer describes the game as having no combat or death, rather than a survival challenge built around losing progress.
What does Homegrown add?
The November 3 announcement identifies three additions:
- Gardening: planting, growing and harvesting crops in space.
- Spaceship customization: collecting chromas and changing the appearance of individual pieces of furniture and walls.
- New adventures: additional areas to explore and characters to meet.
The ship is already part of the original game’s crafting loop: Doug gathers materials while exploring and brings them home to make gadgets and furnishings. Homegrown adds more ways to develop that home between trips, rather than replacing the exploration game with a standalone farming release.

Do you need to start a new save?
No restart is required for players who have finished the game. Starbrew says Homegrown unlocks around halfway through the adventure, and completed-game saves can be loaded to find the new content waiting.
For someone starting on PS5, that means the added activities are part of the game’s progression, rather than all being available immediately. The announcement supports continuing an existing save; it does not establish cross-platform save transfers between PC, Switch and PS5.
Which versions get the update?
Duck Side of the Moon is already available on PC through Steam and Epic Games Store, and on Nintendo Switch. Its Steam listing records the original May 7, 2026 release.
The PS5 version arrives November 17, the same announced date as Homegrown across those platforms. Starbrew has not supplied a PS5 price or an exact global unlock time in the announcement, so the free-update wording should not be read as a free PS5 game offer.
