PEAK is out on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, with crossplay connecting console players and Steam. The October 22 launch brings the cooperative climbing game to those consoles, but it does not let existing Steam players transfer their save progress.

That distinction is explicit in Landfall’s current FAQ: crossplay lets friends climb together across platforms; carrying a Steam save to another platform is unsupported. The developer’s October 22 Steam announcement confirms the console release and crossplay rollout.

Platforms, crossplay and saves

QuestionConfirmed answer
Which consoles have launched?PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2
Can console and Steam friends play together?Yes, crossplay is supported
Does Steam progress transfer to console? No
How many people can climb together?Up to four players total
Can you play offline?Yes, solo; online co-op is a separate mode

The PS5 developer announcement identifies October 22 as the console arrival. Aggro Crab’s launch video says the console edition includes all content updates. A console release should not be confused with a new sequel or with the original Nintendo Switch: the announced Nintendo version is specifically for Switch 2.

How to play with friends

Use PEAK’s room codes to connect the group across supported platforms. The Steam launch announcement points players to that system; Landfall’s FAQ says there is no public matchmaking, so plan to invite friends or climb solo.

For online console play, the FAQ says you need the relevant platform’s paid subscription. Offline solo play does not require that subscription. Check the local platform listing for the applicable service and account requirements rather than assuming a Steam purchase covers console access.

Mods introduce another limitation. Landfall does not guarantee that a modded PC session will work with console players and recommends testing without mods when troubleshooting cross-platform play. An unmodified session is the sensible starting point when assembling a mixed-platform group.

Watch the console launch trailer

This is the original Aggro Crab upload, released alongside the console launch. PEAK still revolves around a group helping each other survive the climb, managing stamina and using equipment to get past difficult terrain. Landfall’s game page says the island map changes every 24 hours.

Is the PS5 physical edition out too?

The digital console launch and the announced PS5 physical edition have separate schedules. The developer’s October 15 Steam post said physical orders would ship later this year; that is not a confirmed October 22 disc-release date. Check the edition’s own listing for shipping information.

Our release calendar records the console launch. It does not treat crossplay as cross-save or assign an exact day to the later physical edition.
