Spider-Man: Crisis of Faith is an April 2027 crossover between Amazing Spider-Man and Miles Morales: Spider-Man, written by Joe Kelly and Bryan Edward Hill. Marvel revealed the event at its October 10 New York Comic Con Spider-Web panel, with Peter Parker and Miles Morales heading into conflict. The announcement identifies the two ongoing titles, but does not yet give readers a complete numbered reading order.

What did Marvel announce?

Kelly and Hill are bringing together the books they already write: Kelly’s Amazing Spider-Man and Hill’s Miles Morales: Spider-Man. The Beat’s panel report identifies the crossover as the panel’s closing reveal. Marvel’s announcement reproduced by ComicMix says the event will change the trust between the two heroes and their allies, with further details to follow.

That makes this a story crossing the existing series. The reveal is not a solicitation for a separate Crisis of Faith #1, and neither report supplies a chapter count.

Why are Peter Parker and Miles Morales falling out?

The setup concerns choices on both sides. In GamesRadar+‘s October 15 recap, Spider-Man editor Nick Lowe describes Peter taking greater risks after Hellgate sent him into space. Some of those decisions will come to light and upset Miles. Peter, meanwhile, has concerns about the people Miles has been associating with.

Those are advance story teases, not a published account of how the confrontation ends. AIPT’s first-hand panel coverage also reports Kelly teasing a reworked villain, without naming that character. There is no confirmed villain identity to put on a reading checklist yet.

What does Ryan Stegman’s artwork show?

The promotional illustration above shows both Spider-Men fighting in badly torn costumes amid webbing and illuminated buildings. The Amazing Spider-Man and Miles Morales: Spider-Man logos appear across the top, with Crisis of Faith — April 2027 at the bottom.

Stegman is credited for this promotional image. That credit does not establish who will draw each crossover chapter, and the image should not be mistaken for a revealed interior page or an issue-by-issue cover lineup.

What should you read before the crossover?

For now, the practical place to follow the developing relationship is each hero’s ongoing series. Keeping up with both books is different from buying a supposed complete event checklist: the announcement has not provided one.

For context on Peter’s current title, our Amazing Spider-Man #1000 guide explains the anniversary issue and its legacy numbering. It is background coverage, not a claim that #1000 is a required opening chapter of Crisis of Faith.

When does it begin, and what remains unknown?

April 2027 is the announced start month. The promotional artwork and panel reports agree on that window; they do not establish an exact first-issue on-sale date or a worldwide simultaneous release.

As of October 18, the checked announcements have not supplied a complete chapter list, reading sequence, interior-art team or ending. Individual issue solicitations are the next useful step for readers deciding which chapters to follow. Until those arrive, a precise order would go beyond what has been announced.
