Netflix’s The Body premieres November 11, 2026, as an eight-episode series. Its October 12 official trailer introduces an all-girls Catholic-school dance squad whose initiation of a new member sets off a town-wide crisis.

The Lions’ initiation and its aftermath

Netflix identifies the dancers as the Lions. Team captains Anya and Elise put recruit Grace through a drug-fueled ritual, after which disturbing events force the girls to confront what happened. The official trailer description frames Grace’s fate as the central unanswered question.

The Media Center logline adds a useful distinction: the schoolgirls begin experiencing prophetic visions, with mass hysteria spreading through their town. That is the announced setup. It does not reveal the explanation for those visions, confirm a literal demon or settle Grace’s fate.

The Catholic-school setting ties the supernatural mystery to a group already navigating guilt, desire and secrecy. Netflix’s title listing places the story on Halloween night; November 11 is the announced release date, not the date of the initiation within the story.

Who plays Grace, Anya and Elise?

Netflix Tudum confirms the three central roles:

  • Sofia Wylie plays Grace, the new recruit.
  • Kristina Bogic plays Anya.
  • Sara Boustany plays Elise.

The ensemble also includes Geena Meszaros, Shirley Chen and Gabby Windey. Quinn Shephard created the series; Netflix’s Media Center also identifies her as showrunner and director.

The Carrie connection is an influence

Shephard tells Tudum that her influences include Carrie, Jennifer’s Body, Heavenly Creatures, Mean Girls and The Crucible. Her description combines teen psychodrama, camp and Catholic horror. These are her creative reference points, rather than evidence that The Body is a Carrie adaptation or spin-off.

For the separate adaptation, see our Mike Flanagan Carrie trailer coverage.

Netflix’s announcement gives November 11 and eight episodes, without a universal release hour. Check the official Netflix listing for your territory; the release calendar records the announced date without adding an unsupported global clock.
