The Fable Season 2 has a specific Japanese broadcast slot and six newly announced voices for its Yamaoka arc. The official October 13 announcement sets the return for Saturday, January 9, 2027, at 24:55 on the Nippon TV network. That late-night notation means Sunday, January 10, at 00:55 JST on an ordinary calendar. It does not establish an international streaming release.

Koichi Yamadera voices Yamaoka, the new arc’s central threat. Alongside the cast reveal, the production released a new Season 2 main visual on its official account. The combination adds a precise domestic start and named characters to the previously announced January window.

When does The Fable Season 2 air in Japan?

The official anime website lists a weekly Saturday 24:55 slot, with broadcasts rolling out across the Nippon TV network. Japanese late-night schedules can keep counting past midnight under the previous broadcast day’s date.

For the announced first slot, those labels refer to the same moment:

ScheduleDate and time
Japanese broadcast-day listingSaturday, January 9, 2027, 24:55 JST
Ordinary Japanese calendarSunday, January 10, 2027, 00:55 JST
UTC equivalentSaturday, January 9, 2027, 15:55 UTC

The site cautions that broadcast dates and times may change. Affiliated stations can also have their own schedules: the headline slot should not be read as a promise that every Japanese station airs the episode simultaneously. The UTC conversion describes the announced Japanese television slot, rather than a confirmed streaming unlock time elsewhere.

The six announced Yamaoka arc voices

The official cast announcement names these six character and actor pairings. The English spellings follow Crunchyroll News’s report and match the roles in the production’s Japanese cast listing.

The returning central trio is Kazuyuki Okitsu as Akira Sato, Miyuki Sawashiro as Yoko Sato and Kana Hanazawa as Misaki Shimizu. Ryosuke Takahashi directs, with animation by Tezuka Productions.

What is the Yamaoka arc?

Season 2 continues the adaptation of Katsuhisa Minami’s manga, bringing Yamaoka and the people around him into Akira’s precarious attempt at an ordinary life. The official character profiles describe Yamaoka as an organization executive who can speak to the boss as an equal and does not experience fear.

That threat matters because Akira’s defining restriction remains the boss’s instruction to live for a year without killing anyone. The announced arc puts pressure on that premise; the production has not specified an exact manga-chapter endpoint in the checked materials. There is no need to know the manga’s later outcomes to follow this announcement.

The image accompanying this report is separately labeled archival artwork from Kodansha’s 2025 Manga Build Roguelike game campaign, showing the same protagonist and manga imagery. Kodansha’s original press release identifies that earlier adaptation. The new anime visual is linked above.

Is Season 2 confirmed for Disney+, Hulu or Crunchyroll?

The checked Season 2 announcements do not establish an international streaming service or release date. The official site’s Disney+ and YouTube availability links explicitly concern Season 1. They should not be carried over as a second-season distribution announcement.

Likewise, Crunchyroll publishing a news report is not confirmation that its streaming service has licensed the season. International territory availability, a possible simulcast, English-dub timing and the episode count remain unconfirmed in these sources as checked on October 16. The Japanese network premiere is the confirmed schedule to work from for now.
