Conan Exiles Enhanced on PS5 and Xbox: Free Upgrade, Saves and Cross-Play
Conan Exiles Enhanced targets early 2027 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Check free-upgrade eligibility, irreversible save changes, Siptah bases and cross-play timing.
— Checked Funcom’s October 27 console FAQ and original trailer. Early 2027 is a window; cross-play follows launch. Siptah bases cannot be preserved and converted single-player saves cannot reopen in Legacy.

Conan Exiles Enhanced is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in early 2027, with a free upgrade for existing PlayStation and Xbox owners. Funcom’s October 27 announcement puts full cross-play after launch. A final release date has not been announced.
Read the save-transfer cases below before converting an existing game. The upgrade’s cost and the safety of an old save are separate questions.
Console upgrade: the key facts
| Question | Confirmed plan |
|---|---|
| New console versions | PS5 and Xbox Series X and Series S |
| Release window | Early 2027; no exact day |
| Existing-owner upgrade | PS4 to PS5; Xbox One to Xbox Series X and Series S, free |
| Cross-play | Planned soon after launch; no day-one commitment |
| Isle of Siptah | Expansion remains a separate purchase |
The free offer concerns owners upgrading their existing game. Funcom has not announced that Conan Exiles is becoming free-to-play. On PlayStation, Funcom confirms that buying either the PS4 or PS5 version also grants the other. Its console FAQ describes Enhanced as a separate game from Legacy, with either version granting both within the relevant console platform.
Before you move your save — read this
Funcom’s migration FAQ distinguishes three cases:
| Existing play setup | What changes |
|---|---|
| Official Legacy Exiled Lands server | Characters, followers and bases carry forward when the server becomes Enhanced. |
| Isle of Siptah server | Bases cannot be preserved. Integrating the island changes its coordinates. |
| Single-player save | Conversion is one-way. Once opened in Enhanced, that save cannot reopen in Legacy. Without a backup, the change is permanent. |
Back up only where your console permits it. Detailed preparation instructions for players and private-server hosts are still forthcoming; no universal recovery method has been confirmed.
Purchases, Crom Coins and staying on Legacy
Crom Coins, Bazaar items, DLC and Twitch Drops carry into Enhanced. Purchases made there do not transfer backward to Legacy.
Legacy keeps single-player/private-server play and critical bug fixes, but loses official servers, the Bazaar and major new content. Coins cease working in Legacy; Funcom advises players staying there to spend existing currency before transition. Players moving to Enhanced retain it.
What does Enhanced change?
The publisher’s console release describes improved environments, characters, lighting and effects, a redesigned interface and performance and quality-of-life changes. It combines the Exiled Lands and Siptah into a more connected experience, while keeping the expansion separately sold. These are announced improvements, rather than results from our own console testing.
The PlayStation announcement also confirms Legacy of the Giant-Kings content at console launch. Separately, Funcom dates Part Three for November 10, 2026. That story update is not the 2027 console release date.
Enhanced already launched on Steam on May 5, 2026. The October press release’s reference to May 2025 conflicts with that contemporaneous launch post and the console FAQ; May 2026 is the supported PC date.

There is no confirmed console launch hour, cross-play activation date, final console performance specification or new-buyer price in the checked announcements.
