Mouthwashing arrives on consoles October 29, 2026, with day-one Xbox Game Pass availability, publisher CRITICAL REFLEX announced on October 20. The rollout covers PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Series S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, alongside the Xbox PC release.

The distinction for Nintendo owners is specific: the publisher’s own console trailer names Nintendo Switch 1. That supports an original Switch release, rather than a separately announced native Switch 2 version.

Which platforms get the October 29 release?

Platform or serviceWhat is confirmed
Xbox Series X and Series SOctober 29, 2026.
Xbox OneOctober 29, explicitly named in the publisher’s Xbox Wire statement.
Xbox on PCOctober 29; the Microsoft-store rollout is separate from the existing Steam release.
Xbox Game PassDay-one availability announced for October 29.
PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4October 29, named in the official console trailer and contemporary cross-platform reporting.
Nintendo Switch 1October 29 in the publisher’s trailer; no separate Switch 2-native version established here.

CRITICAL REFLEX’s publisher-authored Xbox Wire article is the direct source for Xbox One and Game Pass, details that are easy to miss in a shorter headline. It does not establish every membership tier, supported territory or local unlock hour.

What kind of game is Mouthwashing?

Developed by Wrong Organ, it is a first-person psychological horror game centered on five crew members aboard the Tulpar, a stranded space freighter. That premise is enough to introduce the game without revealing the events behind the crew’s situation.

Mouthwashing is not a brand-new October 2026 game or an Xbox exclusive. As Gematsu’s release report notes, the original Steam version launched September 26, 2024. The news is its additional platform rollout and subscription availability.

Do physical copies also arrive October 29?

A dated physical shipment has not been established. Gematsu reports physical PS5 and Nintendo Switch editions through Fangamer, whose current collection page shows Physical Edition coming soon with a notification option.

That is different from a physical preorder with a verified shipping date. The digital October 29 announcement should not be attached to those boxed editions, and a coming-soon notice is not proof of a particular retailer’s stock or product listing.

What remains to check before launch?

The announcement does not give one worldwide unlock time, a complete country-by-country store list or new platform-specific graphics promises. Check your country’s official store and current subscription listing for local access.

For the dated digital rollout, the confirmed takeaway is October 29 across the named systems, including the older Xbox One and PS4. The separate physical release remains a later announcement to watch.
