Order of the Sinking Star launches October 8, 2026 on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. Thekla develops the single-player puzzle adventure, led by Jonathan Blow; Steam lists Arc Games and Gamirror Games as publishers.

Launch timing and price in Sweden

The publisher’s official Steam announcements give a $29.99 U.S. launch price. Verified SEK prices were unavailable in the Swedish Steam and PlayStation listings checked here; Nintendo’s European page also did not establish a Swedish price. Do not treat the dollar amount as a currency conversion or a local console price.

The October 5 global-release map gives 7 p.m. CEST on October 8 for Berlin and Paris, equivalent to 19:00 in Stockholm. This is the publisher’s schedule; check the local storefront before relying on access. The Swedish PlayStation page still says its release date is to be determined, despite Arc Games announcing PS5 for October 8.

Four worlds whose rules combine

Arc Games’ Explore the Realm announcement describes more than 1,000 handcrafted puzzles branching from an Overworld hub. You can change paths when a challenge stops you.

Direction / worldCharacters and central puzzle idea
North — The Hearty Heroes of HaulingA fantasy moving crew combines abilities such as pushing, pulling and teleporting
East — The Mirror IslesA Trader swaps himself and objects with their reflections
West — The PromiseAn Explorer uses coloured light beams to activate different abilities
South — Skipping Stones to Lonely HomesA Sailor plans routes with skipping stones, waterways and rideable lily pads

Gold Rooms connect pairs of worlds, opening six combination areas where characters and mechanics meet. Mirrors can interact with light beams; the moving crew can encounter the Sailor’s stone puzzles. These are publisher-described systems, not a hands-on verdict.

The advertised hundreds of gameplay hours are a marketing claim, not our measured completion time. Treat the puzzle count separately from difficulty or duration.

Voice cast and official trailer

The October 1 cast reveal names:

CharacterActor
The QueenEmily O’Brien
The WarriorLiam O’Brien
The WizardDarin De Paul
The BardAnjali Bhimani
The SailorErica Luttrell
The DruidMatthew Waterson

Jonathan Blow makes a special appearance. Additional actors include Erik Braa, Andrew Kishino, Jamieson K. Price and Sabrina Fest; the announcement does not assign their roles. The official voice-cast trailer accompanies this guide.

Steam Deck, language and storage checks

The publisher’s September 15 Steam announcement says the game received Steam Deck Verified status. The current Sweden-region page did not expose that badge in our check, so we attribute verification to that announcement. It is not a guarantee about every handheld or a performance assessment by Red Reactions.

Steam lists full controller support, Steam Cloud and 11 languages; English and Simplified Chinese have full audio. Its Windows listing asks for 14 GB of storage. Nintendo’s U.S. Switch 2 page estimates 18.9 GB, while its European UK page lists 18.4 GB. Check your regional download rather than assuming both estimates are interchangeable.

Demo and review status

No current Play Demo button was found on the Steam page checked for this guide. The publisher scheduled the review embargo for October 7 at 15:00 CEST; that does not guarantee every outlet has published a review. This guide carries no Red Reactions score or claim of review access.
