Pokémon TCG Pocket Names Dual Fusion for October 29, With Dual-Type Cards
Dual Fusion brings Mega Mewtwo X ex and Mega Greninja ex to Pokémon TCG Pocket. Here are the announced expansion, special-pack and Pikachu mission dates.

Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Dual Fusion expansion is dated October 29, 2026 in The Pokémon Company group’s new media alert, bringing dual-type digital cards led by Mega Mewtwo X ex and Mega Greninja ex. Separate First Partners special packs and Pikachu missions have their own schedules.
There is a timing discrepancy to keep in view: the official October 20 press announcement says October 29, while the official trailer’s description says October 28. Neither checked statement establishes an exact global unlock hour or maps those dates to specific territories. This report follows the media alert’s date without treating it as one identical local calendar day everywhere.
Which dual-type cards are confirmed?
Dual-type cards have two Pokémon types on the same card. The announcement names two examples:
- Mega Mewtwo X ex: Psychic and Fighting.
- Mega Greninja ex: Water and Darkness. The media alert uses the wording “Dark-type.”
Pikachu, Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise also receive new cards and illustrations. Those examples are not a complete expansion list, and the announcement does not establish pull probabilities, deck rankings or every card’s attack statistics.
Our earlier dual-type cards explainer covers the original mechanic reveal. Today’s announcement adds the Dual Fusion name, its dated rollout and the associated events.

Expansion, special packs and missions: three different schedules
| Content | Announced dates | What the announcement offers |
|---|---|---|
| Dual Fusion expansion | October 29 in the media alert; October 28 in the official trailer description. | First dual-type cards, including the two named Mega Pokémon. |
| Special Pack: First Partners | October 31–December 26, 2026. | First-partner Pokémon from nine regions; special pack stamina replenishes weekly. |
| Pika Pika! Pikachu Missions | October 20, 2026–October 20, 2027. | Ten login days unlock an event-exclusive immersive Pikachu ex card, themed packs and accessories. |
These are separate content schedules. The special packs do not begin on the expansion’s announced date, and the year-long Pikachu missions should not be described as available only during launch week.
How do First Partners special packs work?
The company distinguishes special packs from regular booster packs. They use special pack stamina, which recovers once a week, and each pack guarantees one ★ card. First Partners features the first-partner Pokémon encountered across nine regions.
That guarantee is the specific rarity statement in the announcement. It should not be expanded into a promise of a particular featured Pokémon or a published probability for every individual card.
What are the Pikachu mission rewards?
Players who log in for ten days during the stated mission period can obtain the limited immersive Pikachu ex card, Pika Pika! Pikachu Packs and new accessories. The announcement does not say those ten days must be consecutive.
The company also lists further anniversary celebrations, themed promotional-card events and new missions as upcoming content, without supplying a complete calendar here.
Pokémon TCG Pocket is a digital iOS and Android game. Dual Fusion’s in-app cards and packs are separate from physical Pokémon TCG retail products. For exact local start times and current event eligibility, use the game’s notices; no single worldwide unlock hour is established by these source dates.
