Pokémon UNITE Ends March 23, 2027: Gems, Memberships and the Library
Pokémon UNITE closes at 00:00 UTC on March 23, 2027. Check gem and membership changes, the Library download deadline and what remains accessible afterward.

Pokémon UNITE will end service on March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC, covering both Nintendo Switch and mobile versions. After that deadline, players will no longer be able to log in to the game or take part in battles. A separate Library feature will preserve access to selected content, but only if its required data download is completed before shutdown.
The official end-of-service notice already stops new spending: Aeos gem sales, new UNITE Club memberships and automatic renewals ended on October 27 at 05:00 UTC. The US news listing dates the announcement October 26; the purchase cutoff is a separate, explicitly stated UTC timestamp.
The dates players need
| Date | What changes |
|---|---|
| October 27, 2026, 05:00 UTC | Aeos gem sales, new UNITE Club purchases and automatic membership renewals stop. |
| November 12, 2026, 04:00 UTC | The special event update and Library feature are scheduled to become available. |
| From December 5, 2026 | Aeos Crown regional qualifiers begin in stages. |
| March 20–21, 2027 | Aeos Crown finals take place in Tokyo, Japan. |
| March 23, 2027, 00:00 UTC | Service ends; the initial Library download must already be complete. |
The publisher gives the same service-end timestamp for Switch and mobile. The tournament dates describe a separate competitive event, rather than additional days of normal service after shutdown.
Existing gems and UNITE Club memberships
Players can spend Aeos gems they already own until service ends. The checked notice does not establish an automatic refund or a way to carry that balance into another game. Account-specific purchase questions should go to the publisher’s support before the shutdown.
Existing UNITE Club members retain their benefits and services until their current membership period expires. Suspending automatic renewal does not immediately cancel the benefits of a period already underway.
The November update introduces a different event currency: special Unite coins, earned through a log-in bonus and missions. According to the official special-event announcement, its exchange will offer previously released licenses, Holowear, Trainer fashion and other items. These event coins are not a promised conversion of remaining Aeos gems.
Prepare the Library before the servers close
The Library is not available yet. It is scheduled for November 12 at 04:00 UTC. Pokémon says its required asset data will download during normal play or when players first open the feature after it launches.
Once the update arrives:
- Complete the initial Library data download before March 23 at 00:00 UTC. Installing the game alone is not the stated requirement.
- Check the Library on the device you intend to keep. Pokémon says its data generally cannot be transferred when changing devices.
- Finish any desired held-item upgrades and boost-emblem merging before shutdown. Those items will be viewable only afterward.
- Resolve download or data problems with support while service is still running. Library support will not continue after shutdown.
Items and records acquired after the first download will be added automatically, according to the announcement. If the game or Library data is deleted or lost after service ends, recovery may not be possible. It should not be treated as a transferable cloud backup.
What remains accessible afterward?
The planned Library includes owned Pokémon licenses and Holowear, Trainer outfits, snapshots, achievements and tournament participation records. It also includes a Practice Area for viewing Pokémon moves and Holowear effects. This is limited access to selected content, not the continuation of online battles.
The Aeos Crown announcement separately schedules Tokyo finals for March 20–21, after regional qualifiers starting December 5. The shutdown notice says that tournament will proceed as announced. Neither announcement promises a continuing competitive service afterward or gives a reason for the closure.
Quick answers
Can I still play after March 23? Normal login and battles end at 00:00 UTC. The prepared Library, including its Practice Area, remains the limited alternative described by Pokémon.
Can I download the Library after shutdown? No. Pokémon explicitly requires the first data download to finish before service ends.
What should I do about gems and membership? Use existing gems before the deadline if you want to spend them, and check your current membership period. Benefits last to that period’s end; automatic renewals have already stopped.
