Prabhas' Spirit Moves to October 29, 2027 With a New Poster
Sandeep Reddy Vanga announces a new October 29, 2027 date for Spirit. What replaces March 5, what the poster shows and why a Ramayana sequel clash needs qualification.

Spirit is now planned for October 29, 2027, replacing its previously announced March 5 release. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga revealed the change on October 18, sharing a new poster of Prabhas and describing the date as the film’s worldwide release plan.
The original announcement gives a specific day and markets it as a Diwali 2027 release. It does not provide a country-by-country cinema schedule or ticket-sale dates.
What changed in Spirit’s schedule?
| Release detail | Current position |
|---|---|
| Previous announced date | March 5, 2027 |
| Revised announced date | October 29, 2027 |
| Campaign window | Diwali 2027 |
| International scope | Director-announced worldwide plan; individual market bookings still need confirmation |
Cinema Express’s October 18 report confirms both dates. The change moves the planned opening by almost eight months. Older articles or promotional material carrying March 5 should therefore be read as an earlier schedule, rather than an alternative current release date.
The checked announcement gives no detailed explanation for the move. The date change alone does not establish a production problem, a completed shoot or a strategy aimed at another film.
What does the new poster show?
The artwork presents Prabhas in a close-up, wearing a dark cap, sunglasses and a thick beard. It retains the Spirit title, production credits and the new October date. This is the film’s promotional character look, rather than a photograph from an actor’s public appearance.
Variety India’s poster report also identifies the new look and the revised schedule. The image does not, by itself, explain the scene, the character’s circumstances or the finished film’s plot.
Is a Ramayana Part 2 clash confirmed?
The same festival window is not yet a confirmed same-day opening. The Indian Express reports that the second part of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is planned for Diwali 2027, while noting that its exact date has not been announced.
Spirit now has a specific October 29 date. That makes overlapping release plans possible, but does not establish identical national opening days, theater allocations or a final box-office contest. Our Ramayana international cinema guide covers the first film’s separate rollout.
Who is making Spirit, and where will it open?
Vanga writes and directs, with T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures producing. Cinema Express lists Triptii Dimri, Kanchana and Vivek Oberoi alongside Prabhas. The outlet describes Prabhas’s character as an incarcerated police officer; a complete official plot has not been released.
For audiences outside India, October 29 is the announced target to follow. Local distributors, cinema listings, language versions and booking windows will establish how that plan reaches each market. Neither the poster nor the date announcement confirms a streaming service or home-viewing date. Our release calendar records the announced plan with that distinction intact.
