The Beast in Me Is Returning for Season 2 With Claire Danes

The Beast in Me will return for Season 2, Netflix has confirmed. Claire Danes is set to reprise writer Aggie Wiggs, turning what began as a limited-series story into a continuing one. Netflix has not announced a premiere date, episode count or new plot synopsis.

Who is returning?

Danes is the confirmed returning lead. Howard Gordon, a writer on the first season, will co-run the second with Daniel Pearle. Netflix describes the season as the first project under a new creative partnership with Gordon. Its announcement also lists Danes, Gordon, Pearle and several Season 1 collaborators among the executive producers.

The renewal does not, by itself, confirm which other characters will appear. In particular, Netflix’s announcement describes Matthew Rhys’s Nile Jarvis as part of Aggie’s Season 1 story; it does not announce him as a Season 2 cast member. Readers should not treat a first-season cast list as a return list.

What will Season 2 be about?

Netflix has yet to say. Gordon says the team moved forward after finding a story it considered worthy of continuing the show, but the announcement gives no setting, mystery or character arc for the new episodes.
