100 Bullets: The US of Anger is now planned for seven issues, while Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso are returning for a separate seven-issue miniseries, 100 Bullets: Enemigos. DC set out the change in its October 16 New York Comic Con recap.

The distinction matters for anyone following the current title: a shorter issue count for The US of Anger accompanies another named series, rather than an announcement that the entire continuation is ending.

What changed from the original announcement?

DC’s April 14 launch announcement described The US of Anger as an eight-issue limited series, beginning July 1, 2026. The new recap revises that count.

The earlier press release remains useful historical context, but its eight-issue description is no longer the latest stated plan. Readers comparing the two announcements should keep their publication dates in view.

Is Enemigos just a renamed eighth issue?

DC describes a new miniseries, with Azzarello and Risso named as its creators. It will continue following survivors of the original 100 Bullets story. The announcement does not establish that an already completed eighth issue has simply been retitled or explain how individual chapters were redistributed.

The current series has its own premise. DC’s April announcement brought Lono back across the border after trouble reached his former protégé Loop Hughes, framing the story around violence and power in contemporary America. That announcement also identified the new interior storytelling as black and white. Those are details of The US of Anger, not a confirmed Enemigos synopsis.

The image above likewise comes from the existing book: Risso’s original opening-page art for issue #1 shows its stark ink work. It should not be mistaken for artwork newly unveiled for the follow-up.

When does Enemigos begin?

DC includes the title in its 2027 convention-announcement roundup, but the checked announcement gives no precise issue-one date. It also does not supply a complete returning-character lineup or a required reading order.

There is therefore no verified monthly schedule, collected edition or territory-specific preorder to recommend here. The practical update is the revised shape of the publishing plan; a dated solicitation would be needed to turn it into a release guide. For other sourced announcements, visit our comics coverage.
