Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 Arrives October 22; Switch 2 Follows Later

Cyberpunk 2077’s free Edgerunners 2 Update, version 2.5, is scheduled for October 22, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Nintendo Switch 2 will follow later, according to CD PROJEKT RED’s October 20 announcement. The company has not given the Switch 2 version a separate release date.

The update brings content inspired by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, alongside cyberware customization and a new dual-wielding playstyle. CDPR plans to demonstrate more on October 21, before the first announced platforms receive the patch.

Update 2.5: the confirmed schedule

The October 22 date is the developer’s release-day announcement. It does not establish an exact download hour, patch size or simultaneous worldwide unlock time.

What is coming to the game?

The official game-site preview names cyberware customization and dual-wielding as features to be discussed during REDstreams. The corporate announcement separately confirms new items and features inspired by the anime.

That gives players the broad additions, but not their complete implementation. CDPR has not supplied a full weapon-eligibility list, the precise customization options or an exhaustive set of quests and equipment in these announcements. The illustration above promotes the update; it should not be read as proof of every weapon combination or action available in play.

Where to watch the October 21 reveal

CDPR advertises the presentation for Wednesday, October 21 at 17:00 CEST, equivalent to 15:00 UTC. Its site links the official Cyberpunk 2077 YouTube stream and CD PROJEKT RED Twitch channel, with Steam also listed as a viewing option.

The first look and patch notes are scheduled for the same day. They are upcoming material at the time of this report, rather than a completed gameplay demonstration or patch list we have already reviewed.

What about Switch 2 and older consoles?

Switch 2 is explicitly part of the update plan, but comes after PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. CDPR’s wording does not support assigning it October 22 or inventing another day.

PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are not among the platforms named for this update. The fact that Cyberpunk 2077 exists on those older systems does not establish version 2.5 support for them.
