Peacock has ordered a live-action Fast & Furious TV series and is targeting a 2028 premiere. TheWrap and Variety report the green light. Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman lead the project, with Vin Diesel among its executive producers. No exact premiere date or cast has been announced.

What changed since the May announcement?

NBCUniversal’s May Upfront recap described Peacock and Universal Television as developing a scripted series based on the film franchise. Diesel presented that television expansion on stage.

The October news moves this project from development to a series order. It concerns the Daniels–Coleman show; it does not establish that every television concept previously discussed for the franchise has also been ordered.

Who is making the series?

Daniels and Coleman are pilot writers, co-showrunners and executive producers. Universal Television, part of Universal Studio Group, is the studio. Daniels’ credits include Sons of Anarchy and Shades of Blue; Coleman also worked on Shades of Blue and 9-1-1: Lone Star.

The announced executive producers also include Diesel and Sam Vincent for One Race, Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty for Original Film, Chris Morgan, and Jeff Kirschenbaum. Those are production credits; they do not reveal which characters the show will follow.

Is Vin Diesel starring?

Diesel is confirmed as an executive producer, with no announced on-screen role. His involvement behind the scenes does not establish that he will play Dominic Toretto in the series. The current reporting also leaves open whether any other film characters will appear.

Does the 2028 plan connect it to Fast Forever?

Peacock is aiming for 2028, rather than announcing a fixed day or month. An international release schedule has not been announced.

Separately, Universal Pictures lists Fast Forever for March 17, 2028 in US theaters. That is the movie’s date, not the television premiere. Sharing a target year does not establish a crossover, a direct sequel relationship or where the series sits in the films’ chronology.

What is still unannounced?

The series’ title, plot, cast, episode count, production start and exact premiere date remain undisclosed. No series trailer has been announced in the checked material.
