Shin Oishinbo Brings the Food Anime Back in 2027 as a Continuation

Shin Oishinbo is set to air as a TV anime in 2027. The new production is described as a continuation of the earlier Oishinbo anime, with a new main voice cast, rather than a retelling of the story from its beginning. The official site confirms the year, but gives no exact premiere date or streaming service.

Who Voices the Main Characters?

The announced leads are Yohei Azakami as Shiro Yamaoka, Hitomi Sasaki as Yuko Kurita and Akio Otsuka as Yuzan Kaibara. The casting is especially notable for Yuzan: Akio Otsuka takes over the role previously voiced by his father, Chikao Otsuka, in the earlier anime. The announcement identifies these three principal roles; it does not establish a complete replacement cast for every character.

The familiar conflict over the “Ultimate” and “Supreme” menus remains central. Shin-Ei Animation’s earlier project announcement names the original manga by Tetsu Kariya and Akira Hanasaki and directs viewers to an official teaser. The continuation label describes the production’s relationship to the old anime, but it does not yet specify which manga chapters or story arcs the new episodes will adapt.

Who Is Making Shin Oishinbo?

The announced director is Kenichi Nishida, with Takahiro Nagano handling series composition and Nozomi Kawashige on character designs. Animation production is credited to Synergism and Vega Entertainment, under the Shin-Ei Animation project. The cast and staff announcement provides these credits; no episode count has been announced.

Shin-Ei’s official Oishinbo YouTube channel also scheduled a special compilation of remastered earlier episodes for September 25. That compilation is an introduction to the older show, not footage from the 2027 continuation.

When Will It Premiere?
