Capcom released the Main Trailer for Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen during its Capcom Spotlight broadcast at TGS 2026, and it’s the clearest look yet at the expansion’s new region, enemies and dungeon content ahead of its October 9 launch.

Norgan, the New Northern Setting

Capcom’s own announcement describes the trailer as featuring “the story and enemies in the new area Norgan,” a snow-covered region distinct from the base game’s Vermund and Battahl. The footage shows the Arisen and party members confronting hostile creatures across snowbound terrain and ruined interior spaces, consistent with a colder, more hostile setting than the base game’s map. Capcom hasn’t detailed how Norgan connects geographically to the existing world or how much of the expansion’s runtime takes place there versus returning locations.

New Enemies, Not Yet Named

The trailer’s footage includes several creatures that don’t appear in the base game: a massive fur-covered beast confronted in the snow, a hooded figure with a glowing heart exposed through torn robes, and pale, clawed humanoid enemies swarming in groups. Capcom’s accompanying text confirms new enemies are part of Norgan’s content but doesn’t attach names, classifications, or lore to any specific creature shown. Treat these as confirmed-to-exist-in-footage rather than confirmed by name — Capcom’s own materials haven’t identified them individually as of this trailer.

The Arisen defends against a swarm of pale, clawed humanoid enemies in the snow in Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen.

That swarm-based encounter in particular is a departure from the base game’s more common one-on-one or small-group monster fights — the footage shows the Arisen surrounded on multiple sides rather than facing a single large target, which suggests at least some of Norgan’s fights are built around crowd control rather than single-monster spectacle. That’s an inference from what the footage shows, not something Capcom has stated directly about encounter design.

The 12 Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges

Capcom confirms 12 Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges as a core piece of the expansion’s new content, tied directly to Norgan: players will “tackle the 12 Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges and unravel the mysteries beneath the snows of Norgan,” per Capcom’s own wording. Beyond the count and the framing as dungeon-based challenges, Capcom hasn’t published individual details on what differentiates each of the 12, their difficulty, or whether they’re required for the expansion’s main story or optional side content.

Official Pawns Are Expanding

New Official Pawns created by partners around the world are joining the roster specifically to help with the Lost Rites challenges, according to Capcom, which also states more Official Pawns will be added after launch. No specific partner names or pawn identities were included in this announcement.

Character Customization, Available Early

Capcom confirms new character customization options are coming with the expansion, accessible now through an updated Dragon’s Dogma 2: Character Creation & Storage tool on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Switch 2. Critically, Capcom’s own note specifies these new options will not function in the main game until Dark Arisen actually launches — the tool lets players prepare characters in advance, not use the new options early. Capcom’s announcement doesn’t itemize which specific customization categories (hairstyles, tattoos, or others) are included, so treat any specific list circulating elsewhere as unconfirmed until Capcom details it further.

How It’s Sold: DLC vs. New Platform

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen releases October 9 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC via Steam. For existing owners, Capcom confirms the expansion “will also be available as downloadable content for the existing PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC versions of Dragon’s Dogma II” — meaning current base-game owners on those platforms add Dark Arisen as DLC rather than buying a new package. Capcom’s announcement doesn’t specify Switch 2 in that same DLC framing, consistent with Switch 2 being a new platform for the base game rather than one with an existing installed base to sell DLC into.

What’s Still Unconfirmed

Capcom hasn’t named the new enemies, detailed what separates each of the 12 Lost Rites challenges, itemized the specific customization additions, or confirmed pricing for the Dark Arisen DLC on existing platforms. Nothing in the trailer should be read as confirming story outcomes, boss identities, or how Norgan’s events tie into the base game’s ending.
