Enshrouded 1.0 is scheduled for October 15, 2026 on PC and PS5, bringing the complete Embervale map, Cinder’s Cradle and a major progression update. Returning PC players can keep their Early Access saves and do not need to buy the PC game again. The immediate catch is the skill-tree reset: spend your points again before heading back into danger.

Keen Games published the full changelog and launch trailer on October 14. At our October 15 pre-launch check, Steam still identified the PC build as Early Access and the UK PlayStation Store still showed a countdown. This guide covers the announced release, rather than claiming the 1.0 build has already unlocked everywhere.

Can you keep your Early Access world and character?

Yes. Keen’s launch FAQ says existing saves are supported and converted to a revised format. Starting again is the developer’s recommendation for experiencing the reworked opening hours; it is optional.

The 1.0 changelog adds a separate warning: opening an existing save in version 1.0.0.0 resets the skill tree. Reassign those points before continuing. Save compatibility does not mean your old skill allocation carries over untouched.

For an established group, keeping the current world preserves the route into the new content. A fresh world makes more sense if everyone wants to experience the revised early progression together. That choice does not require deleting the old world.

PC Early Access ownership includes the PC 1.0 release. Keen has not described that as a free PS5 entitlement. Early Access players also get three decorative base props through Redeem Add-Ons in the escape menu, according to the FAQ.

What’s new in Enshrouded 1.0?

The main addition is Cinder’s Cradle, a northern region combining lava-covered ruins below with floating islands above. Previously closed parts of Embervale also open, including Hollow Halls in Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin. The current Embervale storyline reaches a conclusion; Keen’s wording leaves room for further stories.

The progression changes include a level-50 player cap, equipment upgrades to level 55 and nine new spell types. Returning mages have new options to consider when rebuilding their reset skill tree.

Sparkworks adds logic tools for interactive creations, from switches to traps and puzzles. It gives builders a reason to revisit a base beyond adding another room or decoration.

Keen also lists revised early crafting and guidance, voiced lore and major quest-givers in English, German and Mandarin Chinese, HDR support and changes to distant terrain detail, lighting and memory use. These are developer-announced improvements; the patch notes do not establish frame rates or stability on a particular PC or console.

PC, PS5 and Xbox: dates and the unlock-time discrepancy

The announced October 15 release covers Steam on PC and PlayStation 5, with PS5 Pro enhancement listed by PlayStation. Keen’s October 14 launch press release keeps Xbox Series X|S at spring 2027. Xbox is not part of the October 15 launch, and no exact Xbox day is given.

The official materials disagree about the hour. The press release says 14:00 UTC on October 15. Keen’s FAQ map instead shows London at 16:00 BST and New York at 11:00 EDT, both equivalent to 15:00 UTC. The current UK PlayStation Store release timestamp also reads 15:00 UTC. Those signals do not justify promising one universal unlock time across every storefront.

Check your own PlayStation listing or Steam update availability before planning a session. The UK listing is evidence for that storefront, not a country-by-country PS5 availability check.

Can PC and PS5 players play together?

Cross-play is not available at launch, Keen says. The developer is working on it without an estimated arrival date. Buying the same game on different platforms does not yet let a mixed PC/PS5 group share a session.

Keen’s launch release lists co-op for up to 16 players on PC and eight on PS5. PlayStation says PS Plus is required for online multiplayer. Those are platform-specific co-op limits, separate from cross-play. The FAQ’s support for old PC saves also does not establish cross-save or PC-to-PS5 save transfer.
