Made in Abyss Confirms Part Two as Awakening Mystery Opens in Japan
Made in Abyss confirms a second theatrical part as Awakening Mystery opens in Japan. See the Hail Hex cast, new official visual and release-date limits.

A second Made in Abyss theatrical installment is in production. The official announcement arrived October 23, 2026, the day the first part, Made in Abyss: Awakening Mystery, opened in Japan. Part Two does not yet have an announced release date.
The production’s original notice says the new installment will continue the first theatrical part. Alongside that confirmation, it unveiled an opening-celebration illustration of Srajo’s Hail Hex group. A separate notice introduced five Japanese voice actors.
What the Part Two announcement confirms
The production decision is the new development. The notice does not provide a second-film title, premiere window or international distributor, and it does not announce an English dub or streaming service. October 23 belongs to the first film’s Japanese theatrical release, not to the newly confirmed continuation.
Awakening Mystery is the English rendering of Mezameru Shinpi. The official first-week screening announcement identifies it as the theatrical series’ first part and gives the October 23 opening. Keeping those labels separate avoids mistaking a production confirmation for a finished second film.
The newly announced Hail Hex cast
The official cast notice lists the following Japanese performers:
| Character | Japanese voice actor |
|---|---|
| Srajo | Nana Mizuki |
| Nishagora | Akeno Watanabe |
| Yataramar | Shunsuke Takeuchi |
| Sherumi | Nao Toyama |
| Menae | Yume Miyamoto |
These are cast announcements for Awakening Mystery’s new characters. The notice does not separately confirm that every performer or staff member has signed on for Part Two, so a complete second-film credits list would be premature.
What the new illustration shows
The official visual brings Srajo and the Hail Hex group together against a bright forest backdrop. It was issued as publicity celebrating the first film’s opening, in the same announcement that confirms the continuation. It should not be described as a frame from Part Two or evidence of a particular second-film scene.
For viewers outside Japan, the checked announcements establish neither an overseas cinema date nor a streaming destination for the new films. There is also no Part Two trailer in the production notice. The next practical milestones are a title, a release window and distributor-specific territory announcements.
