My Sweet Marriage to My Ex-Nemesis is getting a TV anime, with Atsushi Nigorikawa directing and EMT Squared handling animation production. KADOKAWA’s October 4 announcement confirms the adaptation revealed during Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival Online 2026 powered by ABEMA on October 3.

A special announcement PV and the principal staff are public. The current official material does not announce a premiere date, release window, voice cast, episode count or international streaming platform.

Who is making the anime?

The production’s official staff graphic gives the following credits, also reproduced in Dengeki Online’s full announcement:

EMT Squared is credited for animation production; Ankichi Kobo is credited for production cooperation. That is the distinction in the official staff list. It does not explain how particular episodes or production tasks will be divided between the companies.

What is My Sweet Marriage to My Ex-Nemesis about?

The Japanese title is Soshiki no Shukuteki to Kekkon Shitara Mecha Amai (組織の宿敵と結婚したらめちゃ甘い). Uzou’s Dengeki Bunko novels follow Roshi Saigawa and Ritsuka Nagira, who once belonged to rival organizations of people with supernatural abilities.

Their organizations had opposing aims, and the two spent their days fighting each other. After those organizations dissolved, they began dating and eventually married. The former enemies now have to navigate ordinary married life together: KADOKAWA describes the source as a domestic romantic comedy.

That is the starting premise, without revealing later conflicts or relationship developments. Hayashi illustrates the novels, while Si-me draws the manga adaptation. KADOKAWA’s announcement says Japanese manga volumes 1 and 2 are available and lists November 10, 2026 as the planned Japanese release of light-novel volume 5.

Watch the special announcement PV

The 51-second video comes from the official Dengeki Bunko channel and is embedded in KADOKAWA’s press release. It uses the original light-novel illustrations of the central couple to announce the adaptation. It is an announcement PV, with no finished TV-anime animation presented in the reviewed promotional material.

The portrait cover above also comes from the source novels. Neither that cover nor this illustration-based PV establishes how the finished anime will look in motion.

The English manga license is a separate announcement

One Peace Books has licensed the manga adaptation in English under the title My Sweet Marriage to My Ex-Nemesis. The publisher confirmed the acquisition directly to Behind the Manga, which credits Si-me for the manga, Uzou for the original story and Hayashi for the original character designs.

That provides an established English title for the property. A manga publishing license does not establish an English distributor, streaming service or release date for the TV anime.

Release date, cast and streaming status

The reviewed KADOKAWA announcement, official anime account and special PV leave these details unannounced:

  • A premiere date or broadcast window, including a year.
  • Anime voice cast and an episode count.
  • Japanese broadcast stations and time slots.
  • An international streaming platform or regional release schedule.

The confirmed information is therefore the TV adaptation, principal staff and special PV. An English book release cannot be used to fill in the anime’s missing premiere window.
