Netflix published the full trailer for Pride and Prejudice on October 28, 2026. The six-episode series premieres on Netflix on December 3. Emma Corrin plays Elizabeth Bennet. Jack Lowden plays Mr. Darcy. Dolly Alderton wrote every episode. Euros Lyn directs.

This is a new adaptation of Jane Austen’s 1813 novel, not a sequel to the 1995 BBC serial or the 2005 film. Our September first look covered the date and the earlier stills. The trailer is the new piece. If you want the reading path and the older screen versions, use the watch and read guide.

Watch the official trailer

The embed is the upload titled Pride and Prejudice | Official Trailer | Netflix on Netflix’s YouTube channel. Tudum’s trailer article, dated October 28, calls the preview the first time the characters have been seen in motion, after still photographs from the Jane Austen Festival in Bath.

One line in that trailer, matching the wording on the YouTube page, has Elizabeth tell Jane: “One day, Jane, I shall be either a governess and a spinster, or a wife and a mother. And then, finally, we may talk about something else.” Deadline’s October 28 write-up identifies a later delivery of the novel’s opening sentence — “It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife” — as Olivia Colman. Treat both as trailer dialogue. They are not a published scene list.

December 3 is the date. The schedule underneath it is not published

Tudum’s trailer article says the series makes its formal debut on December 3. The updated cast page says the same, and it says there are six episodes. Neither page says whether those six episodes arrive together on December 3 or on a weekly schedule. Neither page publishes a local unlock hour.

A December 3 premiere is the date Netflix has put in public. It is not, by itself, proof that every country’s Netflix catalogue unlocks the series at the same minute. Check the local title page when the day arrives.

Who Netflix has actually named

The cast page, updated October 28, assigns the roles. Use that list. Deadline’s trailer recap swaps Mary and Kitty. Variety’s same-day report matches Tudum: Hopey Parish as Mary Bennet, Hollie Avery as Kitty Bennet.

Tudum’s own logline is narrower than a plot summary: wealthy bachelors arrive in the neighborhood, Jane falls for Mr. Bingley, and Elizabeth clashes with Bingley’s proud friend Mr. Darcy before family scandals push her to reconsider him. That is the official setup. It is not a confirmation of which chapters survive intact.

What Tudum says about fidelity, and what it does not list

Alderton wrote all six episodes. Lyn directs. Tudum’s trailer article says the adaptation “remains faithful to Austen’s original text” and is “meticulously accurate to the period,” while the six-episode shape “allows the screenwriter room to dig deeper into some oft-overlooked plotlines and characters.” That is Tudum’s description. It is not an inventory of added or cut scenes.

Alderton tells Tudum that the emotions in the book “are as pertinent now as they were in 1812.” The novel was published in 1813. Her 1812 is a comparison inside that quote, not a new publication date.

On the same cast page, she calls the novel “the blueprint for romantic comedy” and says the job was to find “both familiar and fresh ways” of bringing it to screen. Corrin calls playing Elizabeth “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.” Those are the actors’ and writer’s descriptions of the approach. They are not a scene-by-scene promise.

Alderton and Lyn executive produce with Laura Lankester, Will Johnston and Louise Mutter for Lookout Point. Tudum says Corrin is also an executive producer, and that this is their first credit in that role. Lisa Osborne, identified by Tudum through Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light, produces.

Netflix executive Mona Qureshi, quoted on Tudum from the project’s original announcement, called Pride and Prejudice “the ultimate romantic comedy.” That line is from the pickup, not from the October 28 trailer.

The September first look could not assign every supporting role, and it had no basis then for claiming scene changes. Both of those limits are out of date. The role list above is the October 28 list. The “faithful, with room to go further” line is Tudum’s, and it still does not name the changes.
