The Case Files of Biblia Bookstore TV anime begins broadcasting in April 2027, with CloverWorks handling animation. Aniplex’s October 3 announcement narrows the earlier 2027 window and releases the first main promotional video. An exact premiere day and international streaming platform are absent from the current official announcement.

The update also adds four supporting cast members to the two previously announced leads. Here is the release status, the bookshop mystery’s premise and the people making the adaptation.

April 2027 is a month, not an exact date

KADOKAWA originally announced the TV anime on April 22 with a general 2027 broadcast window. The new information is April 2027; it does not supply an April 1 premiere, a weekday or a time slot.

This is the CloverWorks TV anime adaptation of En Mikami’s novels, illustrated by Hagu Koshijima. It is separate from the property’s earlier live-action adaptations: KADOKAWA identifies a 2013 television drama and a 2018 film.

Watch the first main trailer

The 89-second main PV 1 comes from Aniplex’s official channel and is embedded in its announcement. It introduces the newly announced characters and their voices. This follows the earlier teaser; “first main PV” does not mean the anime had no promotional footage before October.

What is Biblia Bookstore about?

The story centers on Biblia Koshodo, a quiet used-book shop in Kamakura. Its owner, Shioriko Shinokawa, is so shy that meeting strangers can leave her unable to speak. Old books have the opposite effect: her knowledge and reasoning let her uncover the secrets and histories attached to them.

Daisuke Goura is a young man who cannot read books following a past incident, despite being drawn to them. The official character descriptions set up the contrast between his difficulty reading and Shioriko’s fluency with books, without revealing the outcomes of individual mysteries.

KADOKAWA and the anime’s official site say the novel series has surpassed 8.5 million copies in circulation. That is a publisher-reported source-series figure, not an anime audience count; KADOKAWA already cited the same milestone in April.

The leads and four new cast members

Riko Akechi and Shunsuke Takeuchi were part of April’s announcement. The October update adds Reo Osanai, Wataru Takagi, Yohei Azakami and Saeko Kamijo.

  • An international streaming platform or regional availability.
  • An episode count or the novels the anime will cover.
