Genshin Impact Version 7.2, “Hour of Ruin,” arrives November 4, 2026. HoYoverse’s October 23 announcement confirms Mitya and Valeriy as playable characters, an eastern Snezhnaya expansion and an Archon Quest bringing together representatives of all seven nations.

The release date is confirmed; a universal maintenance-end time is not supplied in the publisher’s announcement. Players should use the official in-game notice for their server’s precise availability.

What opens in eastern Snezhnaya?

The expansion includes Novokitezhgrad, an underground city associated with Kresnik Kristall, and Wingspan Peak, where Old Kitezhgrad stands. The new Archon Quest follows the response to the Nails of Retribution and the spreading Holy Soil crisis.

HoYoverse’s announcement describes both exploration and containment work in the region, rather than merely adding a new combat arena. It does not provide a complete quest-by-quest walkthrough or specify a final story outcome.

Mitya and Valeriy: confirmed roles

Gematsu’s update overview, reproducing the developer’s details, separates the two newcomers:

CharacterRarity and equipmentAnnounced role
MityaFive-star Electro CatalystConverts the party’s Superconduct reactions to Stellar-Conduct; supports off-field damage and enhanced on-field attacks
ValeriyFour-star Electro SwordProvides shields and Electro damage support, particularly for Stellar-Conduct teams

These are the developer’s descriptions, not a tested damage ranking or a recommendation to spend on either character.

The original English-language trailer is embedded below.

Which banners and rewards are announced?

The first Event Wish phase introduces Mitya and Valeriy, alongside a Furina rerun. The second phase brings back Zibai and Linnea, with a Natlan-focused Chronicled Wish also announced. The cited material does not establish exact local banner changeover hours.

Completing the Archon Quest during its designated reward period grants 560 Primogems and Mitya ascension materials. Secret Tsarist Assignments have additional rewards, including a Snezhnaya-themed Wind Glider. Those incentives should not be treated as permanently claimable.

A limited event can be entered through quest progression or Quick Start. Its rewards include an invitation for a four-star character; filming and mining activities are also planned. Individual event deadlines need the official notices rather than an assumed whole-patch eligibility window.

Platforms and update timing

The announced platforms are PS5, Xbox Series, PC, Android and iOS. No Switch, Switch 2 or PS4 version is announced in this update material.

November 4 is the publisher’s update date, not a timezone conversion or a guaranteed simultaneous local storefront opening. Our release calendar records the date with that server-timing qualification.
