Arrowhead Game Studios is deploying a new Premium Warbond into Helldivers 2 on September 22, and Ironclad Democracy leans further into armored warfare than any Warbond before it. Confirmed by the official PlayStation Blog on September 15, the drop bundles three weapons, two grenades, two armor sets, a new armor passive, two boosters and the game’s first tank-exclusive cosmetic patterns. Requires the base game, Super Credits and game progression to unlock.

Unlike some past Warbonds that leaned on a single new weapon type or theme, Ironclad Democracy spreads its additions across nearly every equipment category at once — offense, defense, mobility support and vehicle cosmetics all get something new in the same drop. That breadth is the most meaningfully “new” part of the package relative to cosmetic-only content: most of these additions change what’s physically available to bring into a mission, not just how a Helldiver looks doing it.

The Weapons

Two of the three new guns are primaries. The AR-11 Arbitrator is a rapid-fire assault rifle built around a caseless-ammunition firing mechanism, with an underslung shotgun attachment for close-range surprises. The GL-15 Evictor is a pump-action grenade launcher with a manual single-round reload, positioned by Arrowhead as a methodical, area-of-effect option rather than a precision weapon.

The secondary is the P-34 Breacher, a missile pistol that fires sticky, phosphorus-fueled projectiles designed to burn through armor. Between the Evictor’s reload speed and the Breacher’s stickier, delayed-detonation projectiles, both weapons trade raw speed for a heavier, more deliberate playstyle — an inference based on their published mechanics, not a claim from Arrowhead about their effectiveness.

Grenades Built for Different Jobs

The Warbond adds two throwables with distinct roles. The G-60 Anti-Tank Seeker is a smart grenade delivery drone that tracks the thrower’s movement before homing in on and exploding against nearby enemies, aimed specifically at armored targets. The G-8 Immolation trades explosive damage for a spreading fire effect, built for area denial rather than a single burst of damage.

Armor and Blunt-Force Mitigation

BFM-16 Tanker and BFM-220 Ironclad armor sets from the Helldivers 2 Ironclad Democracy Warbond.

Two armor sets arrive alongside a new passive. The BFM-16 Tanker is a light armor set with integrated acoustic dampeners, while the BFM-220 Ironclad is a heavy set built from surplus hull plating with a servo-bracing system and a blast-shield collar.

Both sets share the Blunt-Force Mitigation passive, which Arrowhead describes as making Helldivers “more resistant to being knocked off their feet when under attack” while reducing impact and collision damage by 30% and providing a higher base armor rating. That’s a direct, mechanical answer to knockdown-heavy encounters and vehicle collisions specifically — not a general damage-reduction perk, based on Arrowhead’s own wording.

What the Boosters Change

The Warbond’s two boosters are narrower in scope than the weapons or armor. Integrated Extinguishers reduces the time needed to put out flames, including on teammates accidentally set alight — useful alongside the Warbond’s own fire grenade, and arguably alongside the G-8 Immolation specifically, since both revolve around fire. Surplus EAT Allocation grants two free uses of the Expendable Anti-Tank Stratagem per mission, which Arrowhead notes is enough for an entire four-person squad to each carry a single-use rocket launcher once. Based strictly on that description, it functions as extra anti-tank stratagem access for a mission rather than a stat buff to an existing weapon — squads that already run Expendable Anti-Tank get more uses of it before needing a stratagem cooldown or resupply, without changing what the weapon itself does.

Vehicle Customization: A Warbond First

Tank-exclusive Verdant, Glacial and Executive patterns from the Helldivers 2 Ironclad Democracy Warbond.

Ironclad Democracy is the first Premium Warbond to include tank-exclusive cosmetics: the Verdant, Glacial and Executive patterns. Arrowhead hasn’t detailed whether future Warbonds will continue offering vehicle-specific cosmetics or whether this is a one-off for this drop.

The Warbond also adds two capes — Standard of Rapid Evacuation and Shroud of The Juggernaut — plus the Helmet Durability Check emote, matching player cards and the Treadhead title.

What’s Still Unknown

Arrowhead hasn’t published weapon stats, damage numbers, unlock costs for individual pages within the Warbond, or how these additions perform relative to existing loadouts. It’s also not clear yet how Blunt-Force Mitigation’s 30% impact reduction interacts with existing armor-rating tiers, or whether the Verdant, Glacial and Executive tank patterns will be followed by more vehicle cosmetics in later Warbonds. Anything resembling a “best” weapon, a meta build or a power ranking will have to wait until players can test the Ironclad Democracy Warbond directly after it goes live on September 22.
