X-Men ’92 Meets X-Men: Evolution in Marvel’s Incursions Comic

Marvel is putting X-Men ’92 against X-Men: Evolution in X-Men ’92: Incursions #1, a new comic one-shot scheduled for January 6, 2027. The matchup draws on two animated-era interpretations of the mutants, but it is a comic-book story. Marvel has not announced a new Evolution episode, an animated crossover or an MCU adaptation.

Why are the two X-Men teams fighting?

Marvel’s premise gives the ’90s-inspired team a brutal choice: saving its world may mean destroying a world inhabited by younger versions of the X-Men who still believe in Xavier’s dream. That is the conflict at the center of the issue’s incursion, not a confirmed ending. Neither team’s survival or victory has been announced.

The cover by Luciano Vecchio puts contrasting versions of Rogue near the center of the collision, with the two teams arrayed around them. It communicates the generational matchup without confirming that Rogue alone leads the story. It also does not establish that every character from either television series appears in the comic.

Who is making X-Men ’92: Incursions #1?

Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost write the one-shot, with Salva Espin on interior art. Vecchio drew the main and mirror covers. Kyle and Yost are familiar names to X-Men: Evolution viewers, which makes their participation more than a cosmetic nostalgia cue; the new comic’s exact continuity and outcome, however, will have to wait for publication.

AIPT’s September 24 presentation of Marvel’s issue information lists the January 6 on-sale date and the creative team. Retail dates can move, so the date is the current schedule rather than a guarantee about every shop or market.

Where does it fit in Marvel’s Incursions line?

Marvel announced five new one-shots revisiting the final days before the 2015 Secret Wars event. The line starts with X-Men: Incursions #1 on November 18, 2026, which brings House of M and Days of Future Past realities into conflict. Other issues feature Spider-Gwen and Mayday Parker, a transformed Fantastic Four and Bruce Banner, and two opposing Avengers worlds. X-Men ’92 is the January entry in that sequence, not a comic originally published in 2015.
